the scene outside was like a fairyland, and with my eyes at least, i marveled at it. sometime in the night, the rain must have fallen hard, for the world could have floated on water. the waterdrops glistened like mirrors, turning the light of the sun to silver. and from this room, i could see straight one mountain peak after another, glittering mounds-like a thousand emeralds topped over a ring. it was a sight to delight a child-to make her cry out and clap her hands.
i wept.
