Even bad experience....

...can be interesting, or so it would turn out.
Lets rewind a few days, it's friday night and my friends and myself are walking home from a night out when we get attacked by some rather nasty people out to beat up students...which is what they did. A couple of ambulances later we're all in accident and emergency getting treated for facial and head injuries (mine being rather minor in comparason with my friends who are a complete mess at this point).
Ok, back to the present! I should point out that I've never been knocked senseless before so it's all a bit new to me (and I hope it's not something I'll make a habit of!). I'm currently fairly pi**ed off and still fairly rattled by the whole thing but bizzarly (please, no-one comment on my spelling there) it's an interesting experience.

I finally get to go house hunting in the morning. After living in Uni halls for the past few months the prospect of finding a house to live in next year is brilliant. It'll also be nice to be able to share a house with my friends rather than the whole pot luck thing I have at the moment (don't get me wrong, I like my flatmates but I wouldn't choose to live with them and they think I'm nuts).
But anyway, we have two houses to look at and hopefully one of them will be the sort of thing we're looking for.

Those folks over at freewebs are cheeky sods. After carefully constructing a nice XHTML 1.0 compliant pages, uploading them to freewebs and then using freewebs' html editor I was fairly annoyed to find out that as well as letting *me* edit my own pages, the *editor* had also been having some fun!
It annoys me enough when HTML editors such as frontpage stick a load of rubbish into pages (I hate too much clutter) but when an editor converts a perfectly standards compliant page into a mess of unclosed tags, missing attributes and random javascript (!) I really start to get angry! If I wanted an editor to make stupid changes I'd go get one that stated it did so.
Freewebs: If you can't get your editors to leave compliant code alone leave it *all* alone!

I haven't updated this blog for way too long.
Oook. Currently taking end of semester exams at my lovely Uni and failing rather stunningly. Seriously, I'm impressed at myself, I've even messed up the subjects I know I have no problems with (ie programming). Nevermind, there's always retakes and I'm having way too much fun to let it get to me too much (anyone who makes their degree thier life is going to be disappointed).
So, what else is there? Ah yes, I'm very excited at the prospect of going around viewing houses for me and my wonderful friends to move into next year. We know the area (lots of lovely pubs and drunken students) we want to move into. I just love the idea of living in more than one room!...and not having to go on a 30 minute bus trip every time I want to get to lectures/see any friends.
But enough about me. Lets have a little rant!
What's up with Russia? First they're pointing fingers and accusing people of espionage and now they're starting to crack down on a human rights group for no good reason (although we shouldn't just assume the group is a victim).
It's really quite worrying when Russia do things like this. It's a step backwards towards a totalitarian regime which hasn't helped the country in the past.
Another worry is Hamas getting into power in Palastine. Yes, I like democracy and giving people a choice (whether I agree with the choice or not) but I'm still worried simply because there is going to be trouble.
