I just registered my account and this is my first journal entry. I've never really written a journal before, so this is a new experience for me. I had a journal when I was in 4th grade and I used it occasionaly. I'm hoping that this journal will be a success, because I made this journal as an alternative to MySpace and hope others will quit using MySpace and join an ad-free blogging community like this one.

riotradio What I did with my free time today. Feb 7th, 2006 9:13:58 pm - Subscribe
I found a lot of shells at the lake by my house because the water is down. Now granted, shells aren't always the most interesting thing in the world, and these don't look all that great, but they are pretty big, some of them are about 8 inches long. It was quite a haul I pulled off today. I usually don't collect shells and have no idea what to do with them. Maybe I will give most of them away.

It seems like I had many interesting things to post in my blog today, but I feel as if I'm out of ideas. By the way, I feel like I would rather write short entries not only because I don't always have the time to write an extended entry, but to also not bore a person to death with useless ramblings. Sort of like what I'm doing right now.

Either way...yeah. I have nothing to say interesting today, probably because I'm trying too hard to remember what I wanted to say. I guess that's it for now. This is a blog about nothing, sort of like the Seinfeld series. I enjoy Seinfeld a lot and I personally think it was quite groundbreaking as far as sitcoms go.

I remember when I was ten years old I would watch cartoons on saturday morning, just like every other ten year old American kid. Then I realized how crappy cartoons really are and how they use the same jokes over and over again. Cartoons are evil. They're made for kids who don't know how formulaic and don't know that they're ripping off the same old jokes and story lines. But not all cartoons are like that, I guess.

But, it seems that kids and pre-teens are easy targets for corporate industries. That's why Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network will always be around. There will always be new kids to watch their shows, regardless of how good or bad they are, because they don't know any different.

Well, I think I'm giving the writers a hard time, but I think the writing a cartoon for children would not be very difficult. Just rip off any old cartoon at random, put in some slapstick jokes and there will be an audience of children to watch it on Saturday mornings.

Saturday mornings...speaking of which, why don't kids play outside on Saturday mornings anymore? Well, I know I never did. I was always playing video games. I could go on forever like this, so I'll stop now. Bottom of the line, I should get off my lazy butt this morning and go run. But I probably won't anyways.

riotradio More about the shells... Feb 12th, 2006 1:15:20 pm - Subscribe
Now it's been 3 days since I gathered those shells, and I think a few of them were alive. I'm not sure now because I think they died between then and now because I assumed they were dead and they've now been out of the water for 3 days.

Anyway, I cracked one open to see if it was alive, and I'm not sure if it was or not then, but it's dead now. I looked at the clam's inner structures and it's pretty cool. I really wish I could find the camera. There's like some yellow goo stuff in there and I poked it and it felt like silly putty.

I still feel bad about it because I may have killed that clam. Either way, the deed is over and done with, and I learned what the inside of a clam looks like.
