Saturday morning

Mood: Feeling like giving a lecture on the state of modern hyper-capitalist society

I remember when I was ten years old I would watch cartoons on saturday morning, just like every other ten year old American kid. Then I realized how crappy cartoons really are and how they use the same jokes over and over again. Cartoons are evil. They're made for kids who don't know how formulaic and don't know that they're ripping off the same old jokes and story lines. But not all cartoons are like that, I guess.

But, it seems that kids and pre-teens are easy targets for corporate industries. That's why Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network will always be around. There will always be new kids to watch their shows, regardless of how good or bad they are, because they don't know any different.

Well, I think I'm giving the writers a hard time, but I think the writing a cartoon for children would not be very difficult. Just rip off any old cartoon at random, put in some slapstick jokes and there will be an audience of children to watch it on Saturday mornings.

Saturday mornings...speaking of which, why don't kids play outside on Saturday mornings anymore? Well, I know I never did. I was always playing video games. I could go on forever like this, so I'll stop now. Bottom of the line, I should get off my lazy butt this morning and go run. But I probably won't anyways.

Cartoons suck, and they're getting worse and worse. Hell, at least some of the old shows' animation wasn't a blob of ink like it is now. Poor kids in the 21st century.. Even my 11-yr-old brother thinks things were better back then.

I know. I was afraid I would be watching crappy reruns of cartoons for the rest of my life, but I quit watching cartoons entirely my freshman year.

It was a protest through a local group, VA. Voices for Animals. I like PETA's ideals but they have some pretty conflicting ideas/stratagies. They belittle poeple to get their cause out, and I think that it would be much more effective if it was peaceful. I will compare this one and the PETA one I will attend on Wednesday and let you know...
I loathe SpongeBob, what happened to Babar and the Pink Panther? Sigh.

When I move out, I (hopefully) will get more active in groups like that, plus I want to start recycling also.

My parents still mock me for it. Which is fine. I therefor go on a laundry strike and they have to it themselves.
Take that Mom!

Three cheers for a healthy enviroment!

I have a friend who went on a laundry strike once. Thank goodness I didn't know him back then, because he would have smelled really bad.

You really would think so, huh? Mmm, clean laundry/sheets always smell happy. Till they get dirty again...

Hmmm, a vicious cycle? Quite possibly.
