The Vatican City displays antiguities starting with the Obelisk-- part of heathen worship-- in front of St. Peter's Basilica. Hauled from Egypt by Emperor Caligula in 37-41 AD, Pope Sixtus ordered it moved from the Vatican Hill to its present site in 1586.
St. Peter's court is bordered by 248 Doric columns, a style of pagan temples. The Basilica's interior also bears symbols of the sun-god. During processions, the Pope is carried on the Chair of Peter much like ancient priest-kings of Egypt, escorted by a large fan of feathers (flabellum) derived from thy mystic fan of Bacchus. A statue of Jupiter was renamed Peter and dressed in rich papal robes. Paganism Christened.
