Martinos, you really must see Mum play, they are awesome live! Thanks for your support-sympathy, Marlene, it was a harsh way to wake up, reading a text of my mates' Ru encounter. Has anyone seen Bright Eyes or the Delgados live. They'll playing in Sydney soon so i'm hoping to see at least one act (probably end up being BB). The next band i've got lined up to see is Art of Fighting, a Melbourne (i.e., Australian) band who play really placid and beautiful tunes. The lead's (Ollie) voice is angelic. Speaking of angelic voices, the lead of My Morning Jacket (Jim James), well, he'll make you wanna cry... This weekend, I shall be going to Fair Day on Sunday, which forms part of the lead up festivites for the Sydney Mardi Gras. There'll be food, and stalls, and rides and people doing crazy shite, like sliding down a massive piece of plastic covered in sex lube....hehe! |

I saw two awesome gigs about one week apart. The first was on Feb 6 with Rufus Wainwright and his sister (Martha) and his mum and auntie (who together form the McGarrigle sisters). Rufus only played 5 or so of his own songs and the rest of the show was a mixture of the others either doing solos or duos. Great gig! Highlight of the gig was Martha doing a French song (by the artist Barbara Barbara) and Kate (Ru and Martha's mum) playing the piano whilst their children sang (seperately). On Feb 14, it was Ru solo, and a really small, intimate gig! It was hot! Ru played either the piana or an acoustic guitar. I got a few OK pics and will endeavour to get them online soon. My friends stuck around after the gig and got to meet him, dammit, dammit, dammit!! |

Okay, so i'm writing so that you, Martin, know how my day-to-day existence plays out. Well, actually, the only thing i wanna say today is that bright eyes is playing in Sydney on 2/4 and Caroline and i will be in attendance (it's a small venue so, yay!) Peace out MEm |
