Tonight I watched part one of Liberal Rule on SBS. It was a very good summary of Howard's long political career (33 years), especially his eleven and a half years as Prime Minister. Hopefully next week Malcom Fraser and Peter Costello will tell us what they really think of Howard!! I often disagreed with Howard's policies but I grew to admire his brilliant political skills. There was no limit to Howard's guts and determination. Like his namesake, Winston Churchill, Howard's motto seemed to be never, never, never give up! I guess that's why he wasn't willing or able to quit before the 2007 election. |
