Major Mike Coleman's excellent blog: http://schoolofprophets-australia.blogspot.com/ got me searching for a quote from Commissioner Brengle. I found the following in chapter 23 of his book, Ancient Prophets: The Army is so thoroughly organized and disciplined, so wrought into the life of nations, so fortified with valuable properties, and on such a sound financial basis, that it is not likely to perish as an organization, but it will become a spiritually dead thing if love leaks out. Love is the life of The Army. 'If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us.' But if love leaks out we shall lose our crown, we shall have a name to live and yet be dead. We may still house the homeless, dole out food to the hungry, punctiliously perform our routine work, but the mighty ministry of the Spirit will no longer be our glory. May God renew us and revitalise our Army! |

The 24th of November marks a year since the election of Kevin Rudd as PM. For the record, Labor won 83 seats to the Coalitions 65. Labor's swing was a massive 5.7%. I wasn't as involved in the election as I had planned to be. This was because I was in Melbourne at Connections 07. (A Salvo Conference.) I was very glad to be there! I have a strong passion for politics. I agree with the Paul Keating quote, "When you change the government you change the country." However I know there are many things that governments can never change. Yet "Nothing is impossible for God!" (Luke 1:37 CEV) I have a much greater passion for Jesus. Jesus has truly changed my life. By dying for me he has reconciled me to God! Through Jesus I experience God's wonderful grace and a life filled with joy and meaning! If like me, you want to see radical changes in the world, then get to know Jesus. No one has ever changed the world as much as he has. |
