I'm sure my marathon was more successful because I followed good advice. Not having run a marathon before, I bought some books by experienced marathoners. I recommend 'Run Your First Marathon' by Grete Waitz & Gloria Averbuch (Skyhorse Publishing). They told me how to train. I wasn't really fit when I started training in January but because I followed good advice I was able to run 42.195 km!

Life is also more successful when you follow good advice. The best selling book of all time and the book that most people throughout history have turned to for guidance is the Bible. The reason it's so helpful is it was inspired by God. It's an essential guide to a successful life.

The prize for finishing the marathon was a T-Shirt, a great feeling of achievement & a cool medal. To win the prizes you have to register and follow the marked course. Naturally, the prize isn't given to everyone who starts the marathon - you have to reach the finish line. My time was 3 hours, 52 minutes, 44 seconds.

The Bible talks about the prize that awaits those who have faith in Jesus Christ. St Paul writes, "And now the prize awaits me - the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing." I urge you to accept Jesus as your Saviour and you will receive the prize of eternal life.
