She's the invisible hero
to the friends she's never had
She's the shoulder no-ones cried on
because she's the only one who's sad.

So, she releases her emotions,
like ink spilled upon a page
Her cry for help is silenced
by her life within the cage

A life locked in chains,
laughter missing from the air,
It's easy to be forgotten,
when its simple to dispair

The marks hidden on her arm
prove she doesn't know her worth
finding freedom in a moment,
each breath rejects her own birth.

not bad at all, not that I'm a good judge of poetry. I thought you meant track marks in the fourth stanza, but I guess you mean cutting. I don't remember which comedian said it, but everyone goes through a stage when they think they're going to grow up to be some sort of great and wonderful person but wind up an asshole like everybody else. That's an exaggeration, but still, a lot of people live their lives thinking there's some sort of wonderful person hiding inside them that just doesn't have the opportunity to come out often. The question you have to ask these people is, "What is this wonderful person doing the rest of the time? Don't be one of those people.

"Be careful of what you pretend to be because, in the end, you are what you pretend to be." - Mother Night
