Motives
Outward inspections miss inward reflections
Spiritual infections and mental dissections
Hope fades to complacency and complacency to doubt
Feeling overwhelmed, I lost in a rout.
What reason to persist? What motive to persevere?
Knowledge of God? Respect reverence or fear?
Head full of knowledge, hear devoid of truth
Subtly fooled by a spiritual ruse.
One of the chosen or one of the damned,
There’s no dictionary to define who I am.
Internal confliction causes Eternal decay
I find my path straight wide and paved
The author of my destruction, waive my right to a jury,
Accepting my judgment, preparing my soul to be buried
The truth is out there, beyond the limits of my pain
Freedom mocks me, sitting outside the reach of these chains
The thought of peace is diluted by confusion,
The concept of peace, corrupted by intrusion
Hope for the hopeless is there some left for me?
Love for the loveless, I hear that it’s free.
