I have an EXAM NEXT WEEK!! On some American poet...meh. I really dislike English at my new school. Its not any harder than GCSE really, but my teacher is quite boring and 2D. She doesn't seem passionate about it and she panicked when we decided to study Dickens instead of Bronte....
A) She's the teacher...so she could of and SHOULD of put her foot down. But she didnt.
B) She should not be so insecure about teaching an unfamiliar text. She should have read Great Expectations and welcome this as a challenge. It must be nice to teach something different for the first time in 10 years!
I'd drop English but they'll never let me because I got extremely good GCSE grades and my old teacher sent me with his recommendations. High ones. So I'm stuck in this uninspiring lesson five times a week. Awww. Back to school tomorrow. It's Critical Thinking day! That means slacking off, leaving half an hour early and going down to the refectory for a nice hot chocolate.
To add to that stress I begin a SIXTH course, this one a Open University one...gah! Most people at my age are studying 3-4 AS's..not five plus a degree level short course. I AM STUPID. Plus they have sent me all this software to shove on my spanky new laptop and I don't know where to start. Thank God for my IT manager father who actually DOES know where to start and end.
I must begin buying clothes for my holiday in April. My maternal grandfather lives in Thailand for some reason so we must go visit him. He's such a lovely guy, but visiting him means I need to purchase an unnecessary amount of dresses and summery clothes once every two years. And I am not happy in flimsy clothes. I love tights, pencil skirts, ballet flats, coats, hats and scarves. Not exactly hot weather dress-up.
If anyone has any advice for the best clothes to wear in extremely hot weather that are cool, comfy but cover me up (I am deathly pale and burn like a souffle) I'd be glad for it.
Anyway, I really should go and do something constructive. But I don't know what. Anniversary dinner is booked at a lovely local harbourside restaurant...revision is pointless because its for English and thats impossible to revise for...nothing on TV...I shall read.
