Have you ever seen someone die before? Pretty fucked, right?

A few years ago, I saw someone reduced to a pile of guts in a car accident. It happened as I was working delivery on a rainy day, pulling into a hospital of all places. An SUV slammed head-first into the corner of a concrete wall and a power line at about 45 mph.

Movies, video games, comics, and all that shit paint blood so bright and cheery. Every death is some glorious, dramatic thing with exploding red jelly flying in the midst of indiscernible meat chunks.

In real life, death just kinda comes and goes. Blood is dark and organs look just like they do in anatomy books.

I called 911 after re-coiling my jaw from the pavement, and I ran with a bunch of onlookers to pry the guy's door open.

Man, you think you've seen everything until you've seen something like that. Someone vomited. I just backed off and quietly finished my delivery. I went back down to the parking lot and stayed for about an hour to see how everything panned out.

Cops and ambulance came, asked everyone what happened. Before I knew it, everything was wrapped up.. Everyone just sprung back into their routine and the day kept going.

I got back to work after about an hour. My boss was furious, but then I told him what happened... He said I should go home, but I didn't.

It's crazy to think that there are people who deal with this shit every day.. I mean, sure, working deliveries, I've found myself shoehorned into situations I didn't want to be in. I've run away from people with weapons trying to steal my money, I've walked in on domestic abuse, I've been offered crack by customers who "misplaced" their wallet, but I've only seen two people actually die. The other one was an old poor woman face-down in the middle of the street on a hot day... I imagine it was some sort of heat stroke, dehydration or something.

It's even crazier to think that some people's job duties require them to kill people when "necessary". Craziest part? Most of the people out there killing people for their job don't even have a proper education... They're given the power over life and death without having real power over their own minds. They're not Batman, but for some reason, we let them think they are. Doctors control life and death, and they must have a PhD to do so... So why in the fuck don't soldiers or police officers require the same amount of education?

There's nothing heroic or exciting or adventurous about death. I fucking hate listening to kids prattle on about murder, rape, and suicide in their shitty shit retard music. It's funny if you're detached enough from the music to know that these artists are just clowns, they're just jesters making jokes... but these kids... man, they take it seriously. They think it's real. They think their thug-ass gold-chain fake teeth shit is REAL, and these little shits haven't ever held a gun in their lives. These little fuckers would shit their pants, cry like a bitch, and call their mommy if they saw someone get killed in front of them.
