Is there anyone out there, that doesn't want to procure the best of whatever it is they crave? It could mean the biggest mansion, the fastest automobile, a blissful partner, the most perfect children, and of course the top rated value in a digital camera. That last item may seem a little weird to have in my list, but what the hey, I'm just attempting to have a bit of fun. I'm just having a little fun with ya. Your family, friends, acquaintances, and colleagues have persuaded you I'm sure never to settle for second best. If Walmart has taught us nothing else, it's the importance of not spending a penny more than we have to.

Technology in general and digital camera technology specifically change so constantly, its pretty impossible to keep up. Just to make things a little more interesting, the constant flow of new makes and models from the assembly lines of camera manufacturers is enough to make one dizzy. While the game remains the same, the top digital camera brands will change from day to day. Hearing about all the coolest bells and whistles really gets some people worked up. The analysis paralysis types will live on this kind of information stream and never make a purchase.

Fortunately for manufacturers and sales clerks, not all consumers are like that. Not everyone is just looking. Most camera researchers have a real goal in mind when reading about the latest digital cameras available. Knowing that your next camera will be used for scenic sunsets seen from aboard a sailboat can significantly help in your selection of a good camera. Fortunately, buying the best camera for you doesn't demand buying the latest bells and whistles available.

This may sound unfathomable, but the essential components of a good camera (digital or not) have remained pretty consistent. Two areas you don't want to get cheap on, are a high quality camera lens, and solid, shock proof materials throughout. I've made bad conclusions in prior camera purchases by paying for features that weren't all that mandatory. Don't do it. Why waste bucks on useless camera facets that don't enhance the look of your photographs? One of the nicest facets of digital cameras is the immediate image review and delete option. Beyond that, any extra aspects are really bonuses. Spend your money on fun stuff, not excrescent camera bells and whistles.

The really slick thing about digital technology is not the camera but the internet built upon it. Using the internet to shop for you, is like having an army of salesman at your finger tips. Visiting just a few websites can help narrow down your surfing time immensely. Compare the finest SLR cameras that Canon, Nikon, and Pentax offer with 11 megapixels, accessories, RAW formatting, and extra lenses. A superb camera website can make the difference between the perfect camera for you and a dud.
