| In nearly one month's time I will find myself on the flipside of a year spent outside the academic straits of one of the most vibrant urban centres of North America. I have no choice but to imagine this as the adventure I have always wanted, as it truly is. But as the days fly past one another, it hits me that I am abandonning all I have ever known and all I have learned on my own in the past twelve months for the academic pursuit of history: an endeavour which has become rather elusive and theoretical to me this year. My method is questioning; my goal is to make it real for myself again, all the while avoiding stumbling into the ridiculous. |
