gdc Stupid News cast, just like those damn Dawson's River kids, sleeping in each others beds and what not... - Subscribe
I have come to the point where I hate the news.
Weatherman, take your 80% chance of rain and stick it where the sun don’t shine. I don’t need some idiot pointing to Vancouver on a map. I know where it is. And that’s not just because there’s big bold, black shiny letters addressing it. And further more, get the hell out of the way of the rest of BC, I don’t care if you got a new suit or haircut or whatever, I want to know what the weather is in Kelowna and you’re busy blocking important cities doing some freekin’ faerie dance and one would think you’re in an upcoming Andrew Lloyd Weather production. Sportsguy, grow up. I get it, “you’re a man” “you have male reproductive organs” now take off that stupid pink shirt you’re NOT Peter Mansbridge. And for you news announcers. I get it, the prompter has run short and you have nothing to say but blab about your kids and how early you have to wake up the next morning. But you get paid more than six grand a month. Stop pretending like you give a damn because believe it or not, I can see right through those seven layers of makeup, high heels and gaudy jewelry. And as for the women, I can see through your ‘like I care’ attitude because your so uncomfortable most of the time you’d think when you dressed up like a frigid b**ch for Halloween you would have remembered to take off the costume.

I rather watch the BBC. They’re eyebrows have a mind of their own, their clothes look like they’re prehistoric and yet they report the most efficiently, professionally and get to the point so fast you don’t even have to hear about the second camera man getting a hair cut.

I'm actually excited to welcome Jerry the obese trout to the chat area.
"Hi Jerry!" *waves enthusiastically*
"Would you like to be poached or baked?" *continues to wave enthusiastically with big msile slapped silly across face*

I really need to get around to cooking that salmon in the fridge...

*rolls eyes*

---------------------------------
Thanks but...

I'm a little out of it... Don't get me wrong, I'm still psyched about this whole thing with OA but I'm not working right now. I had this week off and I also have next week off... What else am I going to do?
I've already updated website, other people's website, had fun with imaging, etc etc... Now all that's left is to bake some banana bread and make some good 'ol fashioned cake. (that's cue for me going to the bakery, cuz hell, I never bake cake...)

But whatever, I couldn't help but break out in song earlier in the grocery store because INXS "I need you tonight" was playing =)

Anyways, off to try some peanut butter smarties....
Wish me luck.

So I've been chattin away with this guy for a few months now and letting him know what software is working for his site and what's not, what's been buggy and what's been well, working great. And then yesterday he asks me, 'want to collaborate with me?'

!?!?! Really!?!?!
It's on an archaeology website, he's looking for editors and 'article/script post' people. So naturally I told him 'where do I sign!?!'

So I am completely overjoyed and this has made my week to now be apart of this community. I'm really excited and am looking forward to getting started. =)

I've given up the mug in the morning. It's a hassle and only allows seconds to gather between me and receiving my coffee.

Besides, if you just pour the cream right into the coffee pot it mixes faster because you can swirl it around. Also, if you're like me you can just move the coffee maker into your office and put it smack dab on your desk and plug it in so the coffee is always nice and hot.

Mmmm....

Did YOU get the memo?

=)

Didn't think so.

It's just one of those days.
Where all you want to do is be Samurai Jack for the day and smack your forehead for matching those shoes with that belt.

7am is an un-Godly hour to wake.

Funny enough I don't mind waking up around 6:30 or 8am. But for one whole hour, 7:00:01am to 7:59:59 I will wreck havoc on anyone who dares disturb my slumber.

I made my goals simple today:
1)Eat baklava
PROGRESS REPORT: done
2)Watch some early morning cartoons
PROGRESS REPORT: done
3)Post emo blog on Aeonity and smack Eadwine and Frost with fat trout
PROGRESS REPORT: done
4)Enjoy a cup of Jo'
PROGRESS REPORT: done

I think today will be a good day.
Next on my list:
5)Read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
PROGRESS REPORT: 10pg's to go.

It really annoys me when people are "stuck" with you and they say, (on the bus, at a party, wherever) "The weather's nice today isn't it?"

What am I suposed to say? ?!?!

Actually it's supposed to rain later this evening with a low of 5 and tonight a low -3. The weather tomorrow will be nicer as this nasty cold front won't be as strong and instead of showers you can expect some sun heading our way with highs' of 9.

Oh. I'm sorry. Did you really want to talk about the weather or were you just 'trying to be nice'? *sarcasm* *rolls eyes*

Honestly. I enjoy silence. I like silence. I like having silence where no awkward conversations are involved. As a matter of fact I have some nicely stored silence with no conversations in my pocket. There. Done. Silence.... ***

And there you have it.

gdc Grocery Shopping for what? - Subscribe
Johnathan: "We need to go grocery shopping."
GDC: "For what?"
Johnathan: "For groceries."
GDC: "I thought you went last night?"
Johnathan: "I did go last night." *yanks GDC's chair out from breakfast table, and leans down towards her ear "You, me, car, now."
GDC: "Apparently I'm 'wanted'. wink.gif No suprise. Whatever. I'll see you guys later."

So Johnathan 'escaped' the cold, clammy hands of Bianca this morning. Actually, like I had said if I could just put aside her annoying remarks, she was good at keeping up so it wasn't all that bad.

But she mostly insisted on asking for his help when it came to everything. "Johnathan where's my bedroom? Johnathan I can't undo my zipper (she arrived in a rather nice, but inapropriate for the occassion navy cocktail dress yesterday) Johnny will you watch a movie with me, how about we go for a walk?" Quite frankly the questions never stopped... But whatever.

So this morning we took off at about 7:30am as soon as Chris came down for breakfast saying 'Hey John, the love bug has awoken'.

And we went 'grocery shopping'. happy.gif

But instead we went for morning coffee. Which was rather nice. And since he's been doing a lot of paper work over this trip and I've been at his side, I have been doing a whole lot of nothing. So much for the snow, but this is almost equally as fun.

I think we might end up going 'grocery shopping' again tonight and I might steal Naomi to go with us because she's been run a little ragged with some of the kids. We have one self obsessed 15 yr old which by the way I haven't seen this much love in the room since narcisuss discovered himself. I think she could use a break.

Till the next grocery shop. Nothing interesting has really happened.

Well, I have chanters, you know, like the one's from Final Fantasy Advent Children. Yeah, they chant in latin, I can lend them out to you if you want. wink.gif

But what about that outfit? Are tights really necessary? So far, I've got combat skater shoes, (which by the way are in suede), and the *evil black suit* (it's black and shiny and ultimatly full of villain-ness* Then the black suede gloves which are full of complete awesome-ness. To top it off, the hair is always perfect. But must I disclose whether I'm a good guy or a bad guy? I'd rather not check that box.

So what are you?-and your super hero outfit?
Do you have any "special powers"?

My powers consist of good fashion sense, pink cupcake hunting (I can detect one within a 10.8 mile radious) and the extra super powers of being able to tell the difference between cheap, expensive and high quality chocolate and coffee. tounge.gif

So? What's your theme song?
(my theme song is "your unbelievable" by EMF) (and yeah, my other power is being caught in the 90's)

gdc She makes the most amazing Hot Chocolate... - Subscribe
Johnathan and I were watching Charlie and the Chocolate factory about a week before we took off here (which is interesting because he's my superior but it's nice because it never quite feels like it, more like a mentor instead) and so I headed on out to Chapters (yay happy.gif) and purchased the book. Believe it or not it's the only one out of the collection I have never read. huh. Anyways, back to the story... So I brought the book with me and was reading it and well, what can I say?-It made me crave chocolate. So this morning, after discovering that only a few people like to work out in the morning I headed on down to the gym where I met up with Johnathan and had a pleasant work out. I beat my record from yesterday, biking 7.9miles per 30min and now to 8.1miles per 30min. *whew* I was spent, but relieved because yesterday I was a little miffed that I was only .1miles away from an even 8. So after that and having a quick shower (it was about 7:30am) I came down to the kitchen where everyone else was either just getting up and briefly washed for breakfast or a few like Maddox and Naomi who had already gone for a morning walk. The woman who own the B&B (the couple is Bauer & Fieny), made Johnathan, Maddox, Naomi and myself a home made hot chocolate with cinomon. It was most delightful! It reminded me of my book so right after I was done I tore upstairs to my room to find it and ran back downstairs to read it while among company. It really set the mood tounge.gif...

I think I actually enjoyed the hot chocolate more since it was so rich and chocolaty (mmmm.... chocolaty...) A traitor to my coffee bean... (sad.gif)

But what can I say, definatly worth it.

Tonight we're expecting fresh meat, her name is Bianca and Chris was telling me that she has just the hugest crush on Johnathan. (awwww! *kiss*kiss* *smooch*smooch* Isn't that just cute!!!!) -{So I've been telling him all day wink.gif} It actually wouldn't be that noticeable but she's called several times today about whatever, each requesting to speak to 'Johnny'. rofl. He's such a serious guy, it's so funny to see some young bubbly thing all over him. (Apparently she's about 19, giddy giddy, and sweet spotless sunshine filled with candy and sugar and honey and everything else worth some money) "So I've heard that..." Her father is good friends with Johnathan's father and so Bianca has of course met him and upon this she has taken a keen interest in the outdoors. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against pretty girls or women who wear makeup, heck, you should see Naomi apply lipstick during turbulance while we're out rafting, she's quite mastered the art... But the one time today (our little buttercup was on speakerphone today while in her 'private car') she began to panic that the house we were in wasn't near a 'suitable coffee shop' and lacked servants. *throws hands up in the air* I think when I heard this, I really started to dislike her here. I mean before, it ws all alright and okay, I'll just have to meet her and I'm sure she's not that bad. But seriously? Naomi told her about the hot chocolate but she still threw a fit.

But that's fine, I mean it's not like I'm always going to be working with her. And I'm sure if I just ignore any annoying remarks she makes, I probably won't notice them any more and it will become nice to have her as company.

You (yes you, sitting in the chair, reading this) and I both know what I just said about 'nice and good company' is as full of crap as the last person who said orange was the new pink. But I think I'll run on it for now. It can't hurt to try...?

Anyways, I'm gonna GTFO to get some hot chocolate. (mmm... chocolaty...) I'll talk to you guys soon, and by the way, I'll try tomorrow to let you know how it goes. It looks as though 'Johnny' has taken a turn to go out for a six hour grocery shop. I'm sure he's not avoiding anything... happy.gif

Cheers*

Holy Cricket is right!

I expected this laid back old fahsioned manor, like I had said before, hunting and fishing out in God's Middle of Nowhere... Well this elderly couple who run the B&B are former health nuts and purchased the place way back when. Since then they've taken one of the rooms and converted it into a fittness room, as I was telling Eadwine (sorry the computer is old and only lets you use one window at a time so I don't know if I spelled the name right... sad.gif ) They have a heavy duty treadmill (sp?) Which I got to do 25 min on, some weights, other equpment, but also a bike that has a preprogrammed CV Workout, yay! (30min, VC Workout). So what can I say? I really enjoyed it. They have a pool, but it's outside and it's not exactly warmest of warm out there, besides I only enjoy swimming when I can do laps and there aren't tons of people around.

This morning went well, I was pleased last night to find out that all trainers could have their own rooms. Everyone else is bunked up in 2's. (which is fine, they're big old fashioned rooms, it's not like theyr'e soffocating or anything... wink.gif ) But anyways, there's something quite relaxing about it all. Tomorrow we'll be using that weight room for sure to help train some of the kids. The water was particularly cold today so some of the trainers and kids used the pool for some rescure exercises etc etc. Tomorrow should be better, we'll probably go on a hike and what not, do some climbing, whatever.

I made sure to pick up some "Jelly Bellies" Jelly Beans, (you know, the one's that have Pina Colada, Popcorn, and Sherbert falvors?) Just before we left. I also stocked up nice and neat on those alfaghetti's, Scooby-Doo kids pasts stuff and Chef Boyardi ? (wtf? how are you supposed to spell that?)
Anyways. That's that.

I'll try to talk to you guys soon.
Have fun. And there's of course a big 'Hi' and yeah, that's to a few people, you know who you are! happy.gif

I'm going off venturing again... But also for work. I'll be back in a week. Heading up into God's Middle of Nowhere to train some kids survival style. I sincerely hope it snows and I can collect my pay and chill at the B&B we're booked in. I'm looking forward to it. It's an old hunting/fishing manor, yes you may have noticed I help book these places on purpose. Well my colleague Maddox also enjoys them. And since we find these places at great prices our superiors don't seem to care.

This week it's "social skills" and "death management"... Haha. Wow, think those two go well together? I shouldn't be so cruel, it's not 'death management' it's dealing with nature and things that are likely to happen and how to deal with them...
IE::: if you fall in freezing water, what to do. Or if you dislocate something what to do. If you're having disturbing thoughts about smacking your buddy over the head with a paddle what to do... You know, things like that...

But anyways, I should go pack. I'll miss you Aeonity, hopefully I'll find a comp up there and give an update...
Till friday...

Couldn't sleep so I went out walking. I spent this time thinking about it but mostly heard us talking. There were so many things I should have said. Those left out words are echoing inside my mind.

It is as though there's blood on my hands and it won't come off. But not all of it's mine.
It is as though something bad is going to happen.

Something bad is going to happen.
Stop. Stop haunting me. These nightmares never go away. They always leave me restless. It is said that when you dream and imagine it is of things you have seen before, shapes and ideas you have seen and heard before. But what happens when all these shapes and ideas are far to foreign for anything you should have seen before?
Then what?

What I have is nothing to my name
No property to speak of
And no trophy for my game
Intangible and worthless
My assets on the page
My coffers are empty
Any offer of safety has faded away
But what I have is

On an ordinary day
The extraordinary way
You take what I can give and you treasure it
You turn to me and say, I believe in this

And that makes me lucky
God, I'm lucky, so much luckier than I ever thought I'd be
'Because what I have
Means so very little to this world
A promise that I kept and a bridge that I saved before it burned
The sacrifice that I made
Brought me to my knees
A choice that cost me everything and set somebody else free
But what I still have
Is the value that you see in these things

And every time I forget those things you bring them right back to me

With your patience
When I'm blinding mad
And your passion
When I'm really, really bad
And your eyes
Taking in everything I am
And your body and soul and the way that you know how I treasure you

On an ordinary day
The extraordinary way
You take what I can give and you treasure it

On an ordinary day
The extraordinary way
You turn to me and say, I believe in this

julesnmax I have never been more afraid of Santa - Subscribe
Throughout my childhood, I have been told various stories about a so called “fictional” man named Santa Clause and his eight reindeer. A jolly, overweight alcoholic who wears red velvet and combat boots lined with fur. His reindeer consist of Ajax, Dawn, Blizzard, Dash-Away, Dancer, Nancy, Stupid and Vegan, soon to be joined by Rudolph the Alcoholic. Of course this is not what is presented to the public at first… But I’m older now and I can read between the lines.

I found stories of Santa as a child scary. Now, I find them disturbing. A merry Christmas song sings, “he sees you when you’re sleeping, he knows when your awake…” I have thought about placing a restraining order against my seasonal stalker, but I am afraid that he will send one of his angry moose after me. I am also convinced that he has a criminal record.

A criminal record helps the pieces of the puzzle to fit. This explains why Santa doesn’t fly by plane, travel by bus, boat, or drive. His criminal record, which probably consists of B&E and several D.U.I.’s, has gotten his license revoked, and he probably can’t leave the country. Why don’t we take a closer look at reality? Santa, if that really is his name, lives in isolation in the North Pole. As for Mrs. Clause? No one has ever seen her before. Either he’s holding her captive, or she doesn’t exist.

I am very confused on the matter of how a large, velvet wearing man has to do with the birth of Jesus? Whoever thought of this needs a new marketing director. I wrote to Santa when I was a child. I received no letter back. The other day I was on a website, www.downloads.com, and came across a program that allows you to make up a false Santa email address so that when your child emails Santa, they will get an email back from him. Personally, that is a question of beliefs and boundaries. Why would I lie at such an extreme to my child so that they will buy into the cheap commercialized holidays of today?

I conclusion, I fear Santa and how he has hypnotized the world with his “jolly” ways. Anyone who wears red velvet top and pants with combat boots and has angry moose named after dish detergents, house hold cleaning supplies and natural disasters is just plain creepy. I will stick with my Christmas tree thank you. And as for other holidays, everyone knows the Easter bunny is way cooler.
