opened bb's sharity gift box at amk hub in the morning, got to shake hands and talk with the pm, listened to mr s p chua recount his personal experiences (going strong at 94 years of age), talked with brigade president and other staff.
interesting.
the fancy drill performance by 93rd coy was pretty cool too.
though seeing about 40 primers from acjc alone was totally shocking.
took the wrong bus and ended up taking a seng kang town tour. it wasnt a waste of time actually, seeing that i dont really have any pressing things to attend to nowadays. quite interesting to see the place i could have lived in for the past few years if i hadnt gone to vs.
but then, obviously vs is the better choice.
sat
hmmm.
ahh.
visited the white sands library for the first time since As ended to look for books. my com had simply refused to boot up in the morning and when in doubt (and without google to help you), go to the library.
yeah, that's the mindset i grew up with. and it cant go wrong.
got the com up and running in the afternoon, played a bit, then went to church.
sun
church in the morning as usual, woke up with super black eye rings, dumped the contacts for good ol' specs.
a meeting in the morning after service, followed by discussing the christmas skit with daniel, followed by lunch at thaipan (im starting to get sick of butter squid already), followed by carolling practice, followed by another meeting.
hectic hectic.
followed by jostling and shoving and suffocating and strongarming my way through SITEX, figuring out why they only employ hunks and babes for sales while the geeks sit behind the counter, queueing for the super crowded toilet, buying a new com, filling in 15 lucky draw forms (its like writing econs essay all over again).
phew.
sometimes i think that holidays should be like, just sitting by the pool and drinking ice lemonade the whole day.
and it seems hong kong is quite a common travel destination for post As ppl this holidays. i hope i dont bump into anyone i know there.

nothing like a postpromparty to end off life in vj.
nothing like speeding down ecp without other cars in sight.
nothing like a $20 cab fare.

havent updated for quite a while, considering that i blogged everyday during the A-level period.
went to smu today for this innovateit competition. and i think (for the 34627526th time) that their campus rocks. ownage.
smack in the centre of town, modern new buildings, underground link to the different buildings, not to mention the all important direct bus.
got booted out of the competition probably cos we didnt manage to finish our presentation in 5 mins, but well its been a good learning experience. having to do everything within 5 days, reading up on business stuff that we have never ever seen before, waking up at 7 in the morning, etc.
its just that we werent prepared enough. so i would say it was a good job done anyway since we put in our best in such a limited time.
and smu's student lounge simply rocks lah.
they let us play there after the presentation and it was like, great!
xbox360 (which i didnt play), real pool tables (not weeny vj igloo versions), air hockey table, a live dj, food, drinks, board games, etc etc etc.
jiejie's right about one thing smu is: fun.
oh well, food for thought.
practiced christmas skit in church after that.
super hilarious.
though it seems like its gonna be busy busy these few days.

okay, just back from church.
and,
i cant believe they got rid of the mandatory "is" on fbook.
now its not special anymore!
i mean, cant people rephrase what they wanna say? it makes things so much more interesting.
instead of their lousy example "John wants ice cream," cant they say "John is craving for ice cream"?
cant believe fbook's founders caved in to a measly 160,000 users.

ive really been too busy lazy to blog these days. sometimes i think that the only reason i blog is to relieve boredom, which means my peak period is during exams where i blog almost every single day.
speaking of peak periods, im gonna boycott cabs for as long as i can to save as much money as i can.
and that would probably mean sometimes waking up 15 minutes earlier, cutting 15 minutes off my estimated travelling time, getting to know iris better, etc etc
i realise that whenever im late, its usually by 10 to 15 minutes.
and after much thought, i conclude its because i think too highly of our lovely local public transport system.
in my (idealized) world, buses arrive just when i reach the bus stop, mrts dont suddenly break down, traffic jams are non-existent, and even traffic lights are non-existent.
which, of course, results in me underestimating the time i need to travel to a particular somewhere, which results in me being late.
i mean, you cant blame me for thinking so highly of our transport system right?
yeah.
i used to suspect that TIBS' (now SMRT) cabs had rigged meters. simply because everytime i took one of their cabs, the fare ended up being more expensive than if i took a citicab or something. so since then, ive never taken a TIBS' cab.
even at the airport, if the cab queue guy points me to a TIBS cab, i'll just let the people behind me go first, which usually garners some suspicious looks if they're local; otherwise tourists think im simply being a friendly and helpful singaporean.
okay that's all to my random ramblings for today.
adios (:

xl you dun seem convinced.. ha

spent ytd setting up my new com.
luuuuuurrve it.
so far it hasnt irked me yet
lets keep it that way.
went to airport today, then met lj to buy the bass guitar at ps. frigging heavy, unlike acoustic guitars.
anyway i was late (which makes my previous post more relevant).
oh well. always room for improvement.
went church after that for band prac and skit rehearsal. i think its getting abit over-lame, but at least its lame-funny and not lame-cold.

caroling was coool.
actually it was quite hot and i was sweating.
but, yeah.
anyway the one today (yesterday) was much better than the one on friday night at that marine parade rc, where it rained and poured.
but the kids there were damn cute.
especially when they just smile, simply because they're HAPPY =)
another post about that some other time maybe.
went to sh & esther's house today for choir christmas lunch. got stuffed wif loads of christmas goodies, turkey, roast beef, pudding, ribs, pasta, etc.
of course, i was thinking of how many calories i accumulated.
coincidentally, my 1 year gym membership expired today, which means gym trips will be cut down in the near future since i'll hafta pay every time i go there.
anyway after being a member for so long its quite sian to not be a member and to go queue up to pay for the ticket.
okay, caroling was great anyway.
supper somewhere in tamp, saw newcastle tyco draw with derby.
caught last bus back.
quite sleep deprived actually,
and might be watching movie tmr somemore.
ah christmas is always sucha tiring period.

xl okayyy whens class chalet if we're havin one?

christmas.
3 great people born on christmas
1) Jesus Christ
okay, actually he wasnt born on christmas. but december 25 was chosen as the day to commemorate his birth ever since more than 1600 years ago and so it stuck.
2) Isaac Newton
accredited as a one of the best physicians physicists in living history, or else, the idiot who got hit by a falling apple and suddenly had an eureka moment.
though i cant really respect him much since ive to learn all his laws in physics (force is the product of mass and the rate of change of velocity bleah)
3) Conrad Hilton
(i hear a "huh?" coming)
this guy is an indirect reason we have to bear with nutcases people like paris hilton nowadays. though we cant really blame him; i mean, even he wouldnt know he has such an idiotic greatgranddaughter.
by the way, he founded the chain of hilton hotels that have become so successful that paris hilton is enjoying the high life
oh, of course i too was born on christmas.
but then, since im undoubtably so modest and humble, i decided not to include myself in that list above :/
anyway, thanks to everyone who wished me happy birthday + merry christmas.
really appreciate it (:

okay im double posting cos there's too much to say i dun wanna squeeeeegy everything into one post.
birthday christmas was okay. a pretty normal day actually. even i didnt really feel excited by the fact that i had hit the magic 19.
19 seriously feels much older than 18. i know it is older than 18 but it really feels much much much much older. and wif great power age comes greater responsiblity.
dahlah.
went for morning service, yumcha with family at our alltimefavourite restaurant. went for late afternoon chilling with my alltimefavourite people in the world at a notverycrowded coffee bean before gg home for dinner.
and so ended my first day as a 19 year old human being.
ahh.
ytd had lunch with my alltimefavourite jiejie at a verycrowded newyorknewyork. shared a frigging huge giant burger with her while my mind was unconsciously counting all the calories. quite nice, apart from the fact that the burger was too huge seriously.
window shopped for a while after that before she had to go to school (on boxing day! wth)
speaking of shopping, i havent shopped for a really long time.
argh.
plus the fact that im not working == i dun have money to shop!
supposed to watch iamlegend today, but tix were sold out at ps for the timing we wanted. sianx. i also found out (for the first time) that GV doesnt accept nets cos i was attempting to buy 6 tickets which i didnt have enough cash for. but then there werent 6 seats left anyway. dumb luck.
anyway i watched warlords. interesting story with a crap ending. if not for the fact that there are 3 big stars in the movie, i think it'll actually be a box office bomb.
got my treat of the day from a little girl, who smiled and waved at me when she got off the mrt!
a sweet smile charms.
my alltimefavourite.
