dear blog (again),

im really sorry ive been neglecting you so much (again)! its just that, most of my blogging exploits take place on weekday nights where i used to be at home, but i just havent had the chance to be at home on a weekday night recently! tonight is an exception though, so i shall spend it with you, my dear blog.

okayyyy gayness aside (or not, since i never said my blog is male), its been really busy and hectic and packed. i've really been enjoying myself at work, with the exception of the work that i'm doing. does that make sense? as in, i enjoy going to work and the time i spend at work, but i dont enjoy doing the work itself.

hopefully im not jus rambling gibberish.

havent had much time to exercise though, ever since i started working. i really dont dare to look in the mirror like i used to when i was still in ns, especially after an intense gym session or run (mmm by intense i mean by PES C standards, which equates to a visible sheen of perspiration and nothing more). but anyway, it sucks not exercising. even when i was still in ns, i knew i would miss that part of my life where i could take a break from work every monday, wednesday and friday, just to exercise for 2 hours in the morning.

and yesh, sadly, i do miss running along tekong coastal route, cos its so quiet and scenic! ahhhhhhhh.

of course, i don't miss the dxos and regulars there. though i havent eaten nasi ayam penyet since i orded, and poor koks is still stuck there for another year.

OKAY ENOUGH REMINISCING OR I'LL START BAWLING MY LUNGS OUT. hahaha adios!happy.gif

"..and be a true, loyal and faithful citizen of Singapore," he finished, with barely a trace of emotion and feeling in his voice.

He sat down again, wondering if he knew what he had just gotten himself into.

"Alright," the matronly looking official said, "please take a seat," adding, "and thank you for choosing Singapore," glancing up with a sincere smile on her distinctly lined face.

He nodded, and flashed a customary smile as it would be impolite not to do so.

Thank me for choosing Singapore? Did I really even have much of a choice in this matter?

Alas, his fate had been decided without his input, without his opinion, at a young and tender age of 6.

Intent on fleeing before the deadline of 1 July, 1997, where Communist China would once again take control of the country, they were faced with 2 options; they could move to the Land of the Free, or to head towards the tropical island state of Singapura. That was the fear facing many families, and many had already left, spreading their wings and flying far far away from the resurgent red.

okay i think that's quite enough storywriting for one day, which sorta sums up my day. renounced my british citizenship (reluctantly and sadly),
took my oath of renunciation, allegiance and loyalty,
and am now a true blue red singaporean.

hooray?

i never really talk much about my family on my blog, cos i really dont believe in airing dirty laundry in public.

so its usually about the exploits and (mis)adventures of me, myself and i.

boring? i dont know, it might make for entertaining reading material 30 years down the road.

i was pondering whether to defenestrate the little cockroach i caught near my window earlier this afternoon.

doesnt defenestrate sound oh-so-mighty and powerful?

yay learnt a new word today!:)

not that today's a very good day though. driving through the heavy rain was scary! and hearing about fruitless persistence doesnt help to improve the mood either. sometimes i wonder if its worth all this pain.

starfield's new album is out now!:)

(p.s. how the hell the 'hey soul sister' make it onto the charts? its train's worst offering ever! we'll be a dream by we the kings is much better than their usual mambo jambo though)

Do you remember the nights
We'd stay up just laughing
Smiling for hours
At anything
Remember the nights
We drove around crazy in love

When the lights go out
We'll be safe and sound
We'll take control of the world
Like it's all we have to hold on to
And we'll be a dream
