While glancing through the newspaper and reading about the increasing depletion of non-renewable energy resources, I have always wished that some concrete step be taken towards nurturing the available renewable energy resources that can be used in both the industries as well as in our homes. My wish has come true as the Renewable Energy India Expo, 2008 has been scheduled to be held at the Pragati Maidan (Hall No.12 &12A), New Delhi, from 21st to 23rd August. The Renewable Energy India Expo, 2008 is a platform to tap multi sectoral renewable energy resources such as bio, solar, wind and hydro energy. According to me, it is a great step towards learning about the latest as well as future trends of renewable energy resources. The companies involved in developing the latest technology trends in the renewable energy sector no longer need to crave for getting their efforts recognized as they now have a platform where the major players in other sectors can know about their work and commitment towards preserving our environment. As I have been associated with some major NGOs working on different environment related issues, I am looking forward to this event. I would be mainly interested in knowing about the take of some major players in the different sectors (who are likely to pay their visit to the Expo) such as Research and energy professionals, planners & technocrats, cultivators, entrepreneurs, students, Head of the States, government officials, leading environmentalists, machinery components suppliers and even financial institutions on the current and future prospects of using renewable resources for different purposes. This is because if these players do not feel strongly about the renewable energy sector, the applicability of different equipments and machineries using renewable energy may not become a success. Some leading foreign companies are also expected to participate in the Expo that are either interested in implementing renewable resources into their production activities or are looking for some collaboration with Indian companies in developing such opportunities. But, what I think is that we should be more inclined to prepare ourselves for the exponential growth of the renewable energy sector in India. This is because we are already the second largest populated country in the world with an ever growing demand for different energy resources. So, we need to create an infrastructure where renewable resources are be capable of meeting all our energy needs. It will be great to see the displays of leading Indian manufacturers, suppliers and distributors in the Expo who are trying to bring about a revolution in the renewable energy resource market. For instance, I am looking forward to the fuel station equipment, planting and harvesting machinery as well as transformers and condensers that work on bio energy. Even taking a close look at the crystal growth equipments, diffusion furnaces, laminators, inverters, ingots and wafers that are capable of working with solar energy will be equally exciting. |

The India Art Summit is an unparalleled effort to bring together the Indian art community at a cooperative platform. In fact this trade show is one of its kinds and has successfully been in the arena for some years now. The magnanimity of the fair that showcases Indian Art in myriad forms is some thing that you cannot believe unless and until you have been a live spectator to the same. At least that's what I conclude from my visit to the Art Summit 2007. The art fair has received overwhelming response and popularity in current years. I witnessed as many as ninety applications from national art galleries and businesses last year...the figures have reported to be similar in the current year as well. The fair housed many exhibitors of Indian art who represented over 12 regions from India as well as many other foreign countries. I was simply amazed at the diverse range of modern and contemporary paintings, brilliant photography, prints, drawings and various other art forms that were exhibited here. Just like last year, the art exhibition is scheduled to take place again this year, scheduled to be held from August 22-24, 2008 in the Pragati Maidan, Hall No. 8&8, in New Delhi. I expect the Art Summit to witness the same congregation of world class art collectors, investors and art lovers from every nook and corner of the world, just like the last year. The previous fairs had seen large number of art galleries from all over the country. Many acclaimed artists had also participated in the same. As an ardent fan of this trade fair, I hope the statistics would not only be the same but would in fact break all records of the past. Another aspect of the Summit that stunned me was the huge media and corporate patronage that the organizers had been able to conjure up for the Trade Fair. Some of the patrons and supporting partners include CNBC, Mint, and Centrum to name a few. So, here's wishing that the fair becomes a stupendous success even this year and helps Indian art cross all borders of popularity not only in India but also in the foreign markets. |
