Geo India is one of the biggest and most acclaimed international exhibition and conference which focuses on each and every aspect of petroleum geo-sciences. The event was started as an extended form of the very successful AGP conferences and exhibitions and has been running successfully since 2002. GEO India 2008 will serve as a platform to exchange various ideas for development and help India rise globally. It is an international exhibition for exploration and development products and services, along with highly technical conference program, workshops and field trips.



As a student of geo-sciences, I had visited the trade fair last year as well and needless to say, with the amazing advancement in the field, the show was a huge hit. It was visited by geologists, geophysicists, geo-chemists, paleo-mineralogists, reservoir engineers and a great number of enthusiastic students. Like the previous year, this year too the trade show is expected to exhibit a wide range of exploration and development products, services, technology and techniques. The exhibitors are also expected to be the same as last year which included Chemical Services companies, Exploration/Production Companies, Computer Graphics, Computers, Core Analysis companies, Engineering Consulting Services, Field Instrumentation, Geochemical Services & Consulting companies, Peripherals, Positioning Equipment companies and many more. Further, the participants list would also consist of an array of organizations that conduct geological surveys.



The Geo India 2008 is scheduled to be held between September 17-19, 2008 at the India Expo Center in Greater Noida Expressway, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The credit of organizing this great trade fair goes to Arabian Exhibition Management, Manama, Bahrain.



As a student, the trade show helped me to gather practical knowledge about the subject and also portrayed a clear picture of the career prospects that await me after completion of my curriculum. s. I also got to know that many major international players are investing in the growing oil and gas industry in India with ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation) leading the band wagon.
