India is replete with natural resources like cotton, jute, and silk. Indian textile products are known for their fine designing, embellishment, and craft owing to its ethnic diversity and cultural multiplicity. One can also witness the wide array of designs and apparels that enrich Indian textile garments. An expo, Tex-Styles India 2009, showcasing India's textile talent was organized at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The expo started on March 1st , 2009 and ended on Mar 3rd , 2009.

Tex-Styles India 2009 was organized under the aegis of India Trade Promotion Organisation, a Govt. body, in association with trade bodies like Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Textiles Committee, the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council, Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council, and Wool and Woollens Export Promotion Council.

Tex-Styles India is the only textile show in the world which provides buyers a one-stop platform for the purchase of the A-Z of exquisite textile products, such as furnishings, selected floor coverings, fabrics, accessories, and various other products produced by India. Besides, the expo offers a splendid opportunity for business development to various textile industries and entrepreneurs. It also offers an ideal platform to the industries for networking with the global textile community and undertaking joint venture with other industries.

The 15th edition of the expo displayed a wide range of quality products of over 270 exhibitors from 90 countries and 500 foreign buying agents. These products were for diverse markets of different regions including the forthcoming Spring-Summer and Autumn-Winter seasons. Products from handloom, powerloom, composite mills sectors, converters, cotton, synthetic, rayon, wool, silk, jute blends of fibres/yarns, and many others like fabrics, home furnishings, yarns, fibres, threads, CAD/CAM system, trimmings, accessories, apparels, trend forecast, carpets, floor coverings, trade publishings, and many others were showcased.

I made it to the expo on the last day. Being a fashion designer myself, I just could not resist my temptation to discover the new fashion trends in the apparels and accessories market. Moreover, I was inclined to see the Spring/Summer 2010 trends presented by the participating firms. I was not surprised to see that the expo attracted around 9,500 visitors related to the textile and allied sectors from across the world. One could find there representatives from the business world to buyers, importers, decision makers, designers, wholesalers, retailers, traders, manufacturers, buying agents, and more.

In addition to the wide range of textiles offered to the visitors, the visitors could also take the advantage of attending other additional events, such as the Theme Pavilion which depicted the capabilities of Indian industry through a startling presentation; Fabric Folio which offered a bird's eye-view of the innovations, concepts and development of Fabric index, and the Designers' Gallery.

Tex-Styles India has emerged as an ideal forum for presenting the multi-faceted splendor of the Indian textile industry. One of the largest textile fairs in South East Asia, the event is a must visit for those who desire for quick success and bigger exposure at a global level.

The very mention of the word `electronics and electrical equipment’ triggers an inquisitiveness in the minds of people, who start to wonder what new technology will they get to see the next. An expo on electronics and electrical, Componex Nepcon 2009, is organized by the Reed Exhibitions India at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The three day expo began on February 24, 2009 and will end on February 26, 2009. The expo is a renowned event for sourcing semiconductors, sensors and micro systems, sub assemblies and subsystems, modules and hybrids, and various other electronic equipment. It aims at providing a platform to the people dealing in electronics, electrical, and related components for conducting business, networking and staying up-to-date with the latest electronic industry trends across the world.

Like all others, I also could not resist my temptation to visit South Asia’s one of the most acclaimed shows which has been serving the Indian electronics industry for last 13 years. I made it to the expo on its second day. The expo had attracted visitors from diverse fields. It had people from the Information Technology (IT) sector, communications technology, medical technology, electrical and electronics technology, machinery and plant construction, vehicle construction, aerospace technology, quality control, consumer electronics, research and development department, government officials, and technical and engineering institutions. All of them wanted to uncover the new business opportunities through partnerships and collaborations. Besides, the visitors also wanted to acquire industry knowledge of emerging market trends, innovations, and developments in the field of electrics and electronics. The fair attracted more than 10,000 business visitors and general visitors in its first two days.

While I was busy looking at all the different varieties of electronic products, my husband was inquiring about semi-conductors and logistics for circuit board for his friend’s business. To satiate the visitors’ hunger for knowledge, there were a large number of exhibitors from various fields, such as manufacturers and production of electronic components, SMT equipment, materials, components and suppliers, semiconductors, sensors and micro systems, electro-mechanical components and fixing technology, passive components, subassemblies and Subsystems, displays / display manufacturers, production technology and logistics for semiconductors, production technology and logistics for microsystems, production technology and logistics for circuit boards and switches, production technology and logistics for subassemblies, modules and hybrids, ED/ EDA and measurement and testing technology, and operating resources and production subsystems services. The exhibitors aimed at strengthening their relationship with existing customers, establish their brand presence, and look for new business opportunities.

Componex Nepcon is the leading trade show for electronic components and products technology and has grown at the rate of 30 - 40 % annually over the last decade.
