Since its inception in the year 1989, Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) has served as the largest network of travel shows in India. It offers an ideal platform for both Indian and foreign companies to showcase their products and services to a large cross section of the travel trade and the major consumers in this sector. This year, it has been scheduled to be held for three days, starting from 12th February to 14th February at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi. It has been organized by the Fairfest Media Limited. As I have always been very keen on traveling to different interesting tourist destinations of India, I visited the fair on 12th Feb.

This year, TTF has attracted more than 1500 exhibitors from not less than 50 countries. There have been exhibitors from every single Indian state and union territory. The number of registered visitors for the show has already crossed the limit of 1,86,000. Of this number, while around 14,000 are trade visitors, general visitors are not less than 1,72,000. This means that TTF gives a golden opportunity to the trade show exhibitors to communicate directly with both the members of the travel and tourism industry and the huge gathering of prospective travelers. I myself got many of my travel related queries answered at the fair.

The exhibitors at TTF comprise State Government Tourism Departments, both national and regional tourist organizations, tour operators, travel agents, hotels, airlines, coach operators, car rentals, adventure tourism, resorts, railways, cruise lines, amusement and theme parks, guides, and those dealing in accessories and equipment for camping, biking, trekking, photography, reservation system, and so on. Trade visitors at TTF have been travel planners, corporate and business travel decision makers, national and international representatives from the hospitality industry, and other travel trade members.

Visiting the fair has been an awe inspiring experience for me. While on one hand, I got to know about many interesting travel destinations in India that I never heard before, I also came face-to-face with some hot deals on various travel and tourism packages on the other.
