HELLLLLO DBOATERS!! Hope you all had a very very merry break. Several very important updates to bring in the new year. 1) Practice! -Practice will be 6pm for the quarter. Hopefully this way it will be a bit warmer and sunnier as the quarter goes on! 2) Races and Dates! - So-Cal Social with all the other so-cal dboat teams is coming up on Jan 31st. Mega mark this date, its going to be a blastt - Tempe, Arizona: March 28-29 - Long Beach: May 3, 2009 - Paragon Point: May 9, 2009 - Alcan: maybe June 20-21 - Keep these dates in mind. More info on each coming soon. 3) Random Stuff! - If you are interested in steering/calling, come talk to an officer tomorrow after practice! - Don't eat too much right before practice. Hey everyone, Here are this week's updates: -T-shirts are in. If you have not received yours, get it at practice. -Turn in pictures to Lona via flickr or burn a CD if its more convenient. -Evite to see interest in Vancouver Alcan Race. -Sponsorship Committee and all those interested have a short meeting after Thursday Land Practice. -Social this Friday around 10pm. What and where? It's a surprise, will be announced at Land Practice. -Keep an eye out for additional Saturday practices for those of you who want extra practicing time whether it's paddling or steering. Hey everyone, Here's the agenda for week 3. Thursday Land Practice 6pm Friday Sponsorship Meeting at Wooden at 4:30pm Saturday Optional Boat Practice (evite sent out once we confirm practice schedule with Long Beach) Sunday Boat Practice 9:30am at Sproul. -Also, Bowling Social later that day, look out for an evite. Things to remember, next Saturday is All Socal Social and also March 7 will most likely be the date of retreat so mark your calendars. Hey team! For those of you that have midterms coming up, good luck! The usual practices, Tuesday and Thursday at 6PM at Drake Sunday practice at 9:30AM at Sproul Upcoming events: -Wednesday CPK fundraiser from 5-8PM. Invite people. We'll be handing out flyers tomorrow at practice, but also feel free to print out your own to give to people. The image is attached. -Friday there will be a paddling cutting party. Stay tuned for more info. -Saturday is the All Socal Social! -Next Thursday Feb 5, is the Rubio's fundraiser. More info to be provided. Hey guys, Just a reminder to please upload your pictures, these pictures are essential to the dboat website (because I'm a photo-tard). It would be easiest to join the flickr group page and upload there, or just ask me for a cd or zip drive. Please bring your fliers and pass them out to as many unsuspecting people as possible! Seriously though, encourage them to go. Remember it has to be between 5-8 to be valid! Dormies! There are two groups of people leaving at 5 and 6! Don't be late..or...too late! Meet at Sproul turnaround. Also! There is a paddle cutting party on Friday. Details will be announced at practice, but keep it in mind, this is a very necessary event or else you won't be able to use your paddle. At Thursday land practice you will also be measured for your paddle. This is also essential. You'll see. If you still haven't received your new t-shirt, let will know.
