Day 2 Yesterday the sore throat persisted. However new symptoms attacked. First was a runny nose. I tried combating that with loratadine with mixed results. Drips still came, but in a delayed manner. Second, my head was pressured with pain. The bones in my face felt as if they were in a vice. I felt like I was cringing my teeth, though I do not think I was. The sinus pressure was great. My hearing slowly withered away to the likeness of plugging my nose and blowing. What made this different was that yesterday, I was not really blowing my nose. So that means it is possible for me to have an ear infection. Sleep was restless. Day 3 Today, surprisingly, the sore throat is gone. However, now my nose is filling up with goo, and one side gets plugged in typical fashion. It is miserable. The ears are not as plugged as yesterday, and I am taking Sudafed for the pain. I think this also helps the plugging but it is still annoying. The outside of my nose is getting raw. I need to get some lubriderm, but I don't want to go back to Wal-Mart. |

Day 4 Today started with a stuffiness. At the cleansing of the nose, I discovered blood chunks. After a few blowing's, my nose tends not to drip very much. Took a Sudafed anyway. So for the rest of the day my nose pretty much did not run. There is still gunk in my nose, however. I am starting to cough. And sometime I cough up chunks, but this is rare. I can grind my throat and force up some clingy stuff Also I can make the sucking that pulls the phlegm from the upper nasal area to the throat. Earlier in the day this did not have much effect. However, as I am about to sleep, it seems to be producing results. There is a glob I can feel just about ready to be sucked out, but it persists in resisting. I think tomorrow, I shall get some Robitussin. It loosens the stuff in the throat and allows for better results in removal. I believe I am getting better. |

Day 5 Today, I am roughly the same as yesterday. Also I think my better condition can be attributed to the Sudafed. My nose is still pluggish. It doesn't really drip that much, although for about 10 minutes it dripped a lot. I coughed up some phlegm early on, but that hasn't seemed to be the trend. My ears are definitely not as plugged, but my right ear tends to be stuck. I can hear it coming loose. It keeps unpoping, but the next level just doesn't want to arrive. I am starting to suck out more luggies. I am coughing more. They are dry coughs, though, without any gunk. I got some Robitussin. Hopefully this will allow me to hack up lots of chunks and rid my lungs of it's weight. I think it would benefit me to work out. but out of respect for the other people I will stay away. Coughing up phlegm: Good. Still plugged nose: Consistent |

Day 11 Pretty much, I am not sick. I sometimes suck out out clear colored mucus substance from the nasal area. When it is cold, my nose is a little bit runny. My throat is full of gunk, but it's like an afterthought. Soda-pop. I have had none since Sunday. Or Sunday was the last day I had any. Since many soda's contain caffine, I have decided to stop drinking any soda's. I figure if I drink a non caffine soda, I may crave a caffine based one. It is very hard to quit due to the prevalance of soda's is our popular eating culture. The whole point of a value meal is to get soda with it. As far as I know, I have not consumed any caffine since Sunday. |
| I went to the UTSA mens basketball game Friday. It was the Southland conferance title game. We won. It was definatly interesting. First, students can sit anywhere that's not the paid section; first come best seats. Somehow I was in the paid section anyway and didn't get kicked out. It was a very boisterous crowd, me included. Although where I was, only the last 2 rows were energetic until the final couple of minutes. I had never before seen a crowd boo cheerleaders before and thats what we did as well as taunt everything SFA did. To no effect though. They only missed 2 free throws. I would say that compared to the Erwin center in Austin, which I used to be a frequent attendee, the Convocation center is a much harsher environment, at least when it has as many people as it had Friday; less than 3500 people. Yes, so we went wild and stormed the court. It was kind of funny. But now UTSA is in the 65 field playoff for the first time since 1999. My regret is that I had not been going to more games and this is my last semester. |
