The problem with lost

I figured out what I hate about the tV show Lost. The group we are supposed to care about never wins. Nothing good ever happens to them. It an ongoing dread fest. It's like watching your home football team lose all their games. The cause for celebration is when they get an interception, yet they still lose the game. So far the lost crew has lost over two seasons. I was hoping they might actually get to do something positive this next season, but it's worse. I guess some people like to see people get psychologically tortured, but it's not my thing. I think I kept watching since I wanted to know what happens, but it is no longer entertaining. It's like reading a really long boring book with twists that you made 3 quarters of the way through. You think you might as well finish it. I think this last episode is the last for me. I'll stick to episode summary's from now on.
I'm sort of convinced that the writers just sit around figuring out how far they can push things before people quit watching. "Hmm, today lets shock them and stuff and take away their boat." "Hey that's a great idea. Who should we kill next week?"
