Ubuntu, dissappointment

boogidaboogida: I've got the upgrade fever

Things were going really good in Ubuntu Linux. I got most of my hardware set up. I got xvids to work. I got Enlightenment and Fluxbox set up. I compiled a new kernel...

There is one problem though and it seems to be a current bug. I am unable to mount my 3rd hard drive. I've got another 120GB of storage and I want to use it, but unfortunately I cannot. As it looks now, I will have to hold off on making the transition to Linux.

It's not that I hate Microsoft either. Windows 2000 is an awesome operating system. I like it very much. Not many file managers can come close to the ease and power of Windows Explorer. Unfortunately with Vista around the corner, support for Windows 2000 will probably go the way of Windows 98. Meaning no more security patches and updates. I'm going to need a new OS, and Linux is the way. I figured might as well start now as later. Plus I actually like linux. The command line and things you can do are great. The look and feel is nice as well. Hopefully, the already mounted bug will be fixed or somebody will find a workaround for it.

This short trial gave me some new experience in partitioning though. I never before setup Linux across several partitions. It was actually pretty easy. Now I know how to do it, so I can partition my drive accordingly with ntfs and be able to quickly make the transition to dual booting.

I will leave my current partitions as is for about a couple of weeks in hope someone can help me fix it. After that it is back to all ntfs. I need that space.
