I've really appreciated this forum. I've learned a great deal from this site and I wish there was a community forum like this where people could share facts, history, opinions, ideas etc., full time... Thanks,
Ian Ritz.

Though I was a silent user of this site I really appreciated this forum. I too learned a great deal. I plan to read it more often in the future and hope to contribute as well. Cheers,

My message has always been about meaningful public engagement, transparency and accountability. This BLOG has been an extraordinary success in engaging our community, and I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Duane for the fantastic job he has done and the incredible amount of time and resources he has devoted to it.

I hope others will join me in encouraging Duane to continue with this project. The goal “get informed” was highly successful; however to move forward as a vehicle of meaningful public engagement we (fellow bloggers) will need to learn how to deal with those that get carried away and make false or misleading statements. For example information should be presented as ‘first hand’, and accusations could be phrased as a question instead of a statement.

Anyone else have some ideas?

There should be award named after Duane, given to people that have a quest to educate the community. From your personal quest to get more involved in this election to involving the community in it has been inspirational from the start to the finish. You put in as much time and effort (and money) as anyone running with no expectation but a better more informed Whistler. Thank you does not seem like enough..

Shall we start by taking our signs down????

As a past Citizen of the year I would seconded that motion of Tom Horler's That Duane is considered for his contribution to our election 2005 as Citizen of the Year and that the Power of Four should support his efforts with funding. Sonya McCarthy
