i.e. how do they feel about the pending Chamber of Commerce Visitor Info Centre operational take-over by Tourism Whistler, and how do they feel this will impact the community over the long term?

Very well said Brian!

Not sure that I would agree that voting at Myrtle Phillips is exactly "hard"

But I would say that if our goal is to bring locals to the village that this seems to go opposite of that. Might as well start to instill the belief now!

What is the Four Agency Review?

Brian, It might have something to do with money. Myrtle Philip Community Centre is a municipal facility. No Charge. Check out the rate sheet for Tourism Whistler.

The Four Agency Review was a study done by the the four "players" of Whistler -- The Chamber, TW, the RMOW, and Whistler Blackcomb -- to review the role each agency plays in the resort. The recommendations from the review were apparently that the Chamber should resign Visitor Information Centre (Gateway) operations to Tourism Whistler to reduce duplications in service.

I wonder where one might find a copy of this review?

"in Camera Meeting" is where you can see this review. Same as all the others

It would be highly beneficial for the members of both Tourism Whistler and the Chamber to be advised AND included in this process as it is a signficant change that will greatly impact the community, just as the move of the TW call centre had.

Has anyone ever contemplate that the room night issue might be stemming from having our primary call centre located out of the community and operated by an organizaiton whose primary interests might not be aligned with the resorts?

I would be very interested in hearing more about this review and who initiated it?
