Q: Hi, I have a few questions. I read EVERY question in your Q&A so I wouldn't waste your time and I'm almost positive you haven't answered these.
1) What do HAM members do? You said where they meet but I'm interested in what they do and who they are.
2)Where can you get ahold of nettles for nettle tea?
3)When is a farming skill coming, or is that just a rumor?
Thanks a lot, also, I LOVE your site. It's the only runescape help site that I visit and I really appreciate all that you do.
A:
1) Currently the HAM group members don't play a big role in RuneScape. You can steal their HAM Robes, but right now they aren't a big part of RuneScape.
2) You can find Nettles near Mazchna the Slayer Master in Canifis, or in Edgeville near the dungeon entrance.
3) The Farming skill is planned to be completely released sometime in July, although you never know it something might "come up" while putting the finishing touches on the new skill. :-)

Q: Hey Sal I would be a complete noob without your site. Anyway my question is about how to get to Crandor. I recently got a clue scroll that requires me to go there, I know that the passage is through the volcano but I can't "open" the wall. Do I need to finish a quest? Be a certain level? What?
A: Yes, in order to get through that passage in the Karamja Volcano you need to have completed the Dragon Slayer Quest, or at least have gotten to the part where you kill the Dragon and open up the passage from inside.

Q: I'm going to be traveling soon by airplane to another state, in which I will not have the internet, and therefore no access to Runescape. My question is that if I was not able to play or log on to Runescape for a long period of time, will my account be erased? Thanks.
P.S. This site is amazing, Sal! I would recommend this site to any Runescape players.
A: There's a limit to how long you can have an inactive account on RuneScape Classic, but I don't think that there's one for RuneScape. If you plan on not having access for several months, everything should be fine and you're account won't be erased.

Q: hay, nice website, heres my question. when levleing your skills for magic, range, str and atk, does it help to level ALL of then, for more chance of attacked metter and defending better?
Im an archer, so would level attack, help me hit higher?
A: Well naturally, having a higher attack or defense stat will help defend or hit better, and generally working on all of them at the same time will cause you to level more slowly. Attack really doesn't help Archers very much as you'll be attacking with a bow.

A Curious Sister
Q: Hi there, I have two brothers who enjoy playing runescape very much, but I find when they play it certain computer problems arise, things like the computer freezing and other things of that nature. We have a DSL connection as well as fire wall protection and Anti-Spam and Virus Blockers, so things should run smoothely as it does wiht most other sites. I was wondering after I saw a Q & A posted in August 2004, if runscape is REALLY safe? With so many people on one server at one time I wonder whether or not it's really all that safe for the computer, I mean I understand that with any site you go to there is a small risk of virus and things of that nature, but is this risk enhanced any by playing on runescape? Thanks for your time.
A: As you aid, there's a risk visiting any site, but RuneScape is generally safe to play. Since you have a virus blocker and firewall (as well as a virus scanner I assume), you should be well protected. Make sure to have all of the windows patches and you should be fine. The fact that your computer is freezing sounds like it may need more memory (especially if it's an older computer) as RuneScape tends to use a lot of it! I'd suggest having around 512MB of memory to keep it running smoothly, and you can usually buy it at your local computer store.

Q: Please answer this, because, I think you aleady got a form of the question but im still confused. I always thought that berets the fancy hats from tresure trails, aren't they members? In another Q&A i saw it was like you can trade all trimmed gilded and god armours. and berets... so are berets members and can be trade to fp, or just members?
A: Well, Treasure Trails are only for members, but many of the unique Treasure Trail items (including Berets) are tradeable to freeplay.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Minerzak
Q: how do you get the black and red mystic outfit?thanx and just to let you know , your site rocks!!
A: Mystic Robes are dropped by some of the Slayer monsters, including Basilisks, Infernal Mages, Cockatrices, Wall beasts and Rock Slugs to name a few.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Randie Lamie
Q: Many players when they are selling goods at the bank can display long and detailed text messages for whatever they are selling. They can post very fast and exactly the same everytime. Is there a way to "cut and paste" a message faster than retyping it all everytime?
A: Macroing programs called "auto-typers" are most likely what they are using to "type" messages over and over again. Technically these programs are macros and Jagex *may* ban you for using them as software like that is against the rules.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rusty Nail
Q: hey sal, saw ya the other day anyways i was wondering is it possible for f2p to wear the gilded armour (the full gold 1)???
A: Yes, freeplayers are able to wear Gilded armor, but it needs to be traded from a Member.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Metroid829
Q: For combining runes, can you use tiaras instead of tallys, and if you can, will they get used up?
A: No, you can only use Talismans for combining Runes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Popadophalis
Q: If i was to become a member and i get an amount of member's items that exceeds the amount of room in the non members banks and my membership expires what happens to the extra members items in my bank? do they freeze or do they get deleted?
A: Any items that happen to be over a freeplayer's limit will still be usable, and you'll still be able to take them out of your bank. You just won't be able to put anything else into your bank until you remove enough items to be back under the limit.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No Snow3
Q: Im confused, on the front page of runescape, on the updates where the have just told about the new tiaras they say it is for f2p but in the game on the crafting skills page it says it is members, which one is it??? members or free play??
A: The reason that it says that is because of the fact that only Member can craft the new Tiaras. Freeplayers can enchant and use up to Body Tiaras, although Members must trade over crafted Tiaras for freeplayers to use.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris
Q: About the kitten to care sumbject. I was wondering is it possible for your cat if u don't feed it to die?? And this site rox!! and another question. Do u still get on runescape???
A: No, you're Kitten won't die. Instead it will run away to find a "new owner" (perhaps back to Gertrude?). And yes, I still play RuneScape from time to time.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kenneth Strunk
Q: I dont know if this has been asked before but can non-members wear/get those gold, grey and lightblue coloured gloves? I would really lile to know. thnx
A: Freeplayers can be traded the gloves from Canifis by Members, as that's the only place to get them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cow Jerky34
Q: Sal This site rules its helped alot. What is Half of a key for? plz answer the question you rock
A: A Half of a Key is just what it says it is: a Half of a Key. There are 2 halves, a Loop Half and a Teeth Half. Once put together the halves will create the Crystal Key, used in opening the Treasure Chest in Taverley. Inside will be an Uncut Dragonstone and some other loot.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trey940
Q: how do you get the h.a.m. robes and how do you get in there hide-out?If you have to be a member please tell me. P.S.your webstite is awsome
A: The HAM hideout is found to the west of Lumbridge, in a small dilapidated building surrounded by Spiders. There should be a trapdoor inside; you'll need to pick the lock to climb down the ladder into the underground hideout. To get the Robes, you just need to pickpocket the members. The hideout is Members-Only.

Q: Hey great site man, i had a question about the ring of wealth. You know how to says you get better drops? Well when they say better drops do they meen when u kill something instead of getting addy legs from the monster youll get addy plate? Is that what they meen by better drop?
A: The Ring of Wealth actually just increases the chance of getting a rare drop from a monster. So, by wearing a Ring of Wealth while fighting Greater Demons will increase your chances of getting a Rune Great Helmet, or if you're fighting Abyssal Demons, your chances of getting an Abyssal Whip will be enhanced slightly.

Q: Hey, Sal!! Want to say that your site is greatand I use it all the time!! I wanted to know what combet lvl your character is. Sorry this message is soooo long!!

Q: Hey Sal...Love the site but i was wondering...is it possible to be a non-member AND get some splitbark armour? And the wizard at the draynor tower says i need to find a hollow tree...where can i find those?
A: No, Splitbark Armor is only available to Members. Hollow Trees can be found in the swamp east of Canifis.

Q: r mime clothes f2p or p2p, because i've really wanted some of them!
A: Mime Clothes are for both freeplay and members, although it is very rare to come across a Mime Random Event and get a piece or 2 of the Mime's clothing as a reward.

Q: Hi Sal! This is a great website for Runescape Q's & A's!
I'm writing this down because I read your update on Runescape and I wanted to know if Runescape is going to have houses that Runescape players can realy own? Is that true? Thanks for creating such a great website!
P.S: Are Runescape players really going to get Horses to ride with in the upcoming Christmas? Your Buddy: Basil Khan
A: Yes, evidently there are going to be Player Owned Houses by the end of the year, or so the updates on the official RuneScape site says. I can't really give any specific details about them, so I suppose we'll have to wait and see what happens! But I don't think that there will ever be Horses in RuneScape, as it's already been widely discussed and Jagex doesn't really like the idea (or so it seams).

Chaos Axis
Q: I've noticed a lot of people are wearing black armor and I just wondered... What is the black armor's significance? Is is stronger than the others? How is it made? Thanks! By the way, I love your site! It helped me out in the majority of the quests. Thanks again!
A: Black Armor doesn't really have any special significance, except for the fact that it looks cool. It's better than Steel, so it's a good option if you can't afford higher priced armor. Black armor can't be smithed, it can only be bought from shops such as the Champion's Guild, Horvik in Varrock, the Leg Shop in Al Kharid, or from certain monster drops.

Q: Hey sal, great site. what is damaged and broken armor used for? i hopeyou answer this. ive sent like 50 and you never answer.
A: Damaged and Broken Armor (along with other Broken or Damaged items) are just junk and have no particular use in RuneScape.

A: No, only certain Holiday Items can be returned to you if you lose it. Older items like Santa Hats, Party Hats, Pumpkins and Easter Eggs can't be returned to you. The untradeable items like Scythes, Yo-yos and Bunny Ears can be returned to you if you happen to lose them.

Q: salmoneus, i have this lil question that desperately need answered so please please please answer it! its about dragon slayer, but its not in the guide. Does it matter if u wear any armor when u are fighting the dragon as long as u have the anti-dragon shield?? answer asap.
A: It's best to wear armor while fighting the dragon, even if it's not your best, as some armor is better than none at all. You'll have a very difficult time defeating Elvarg without armor, as he can hit you really hard, even with armor on.

Q: hey sal, its me again. I just have a question about this website. I read your slayer guide. It was pretty awesome. But im confused. i checked the salmoneus page but why does it say ur slayer is 1??!!!! if you know about those information on slayer, why is it so low? how did u know all those information? (same goes to runecrafting) answer ASAP
http://www.ageofconangold.ws
A: Actually, I'm not the one who compiled the info for those guides. I have to give credit to several of the Forum members, including Cameron, Sketchy1991, AnImp3HitMe, Rouge_Menace, Huzzamaster and Bboyjyoung for writing all of the info for the guide... I just edited their info into a complete guide. The credits can be found at the top of each page.

Q: Hey Sal. First, of all, this is an awesome website. I've been studying your stats and quests and have a few questions. How did u train your magic without any runecrafting skill? Did you just buy all the runes? And you've done a lot of quests, obviously, Heroes being one of them, so where is the Heroes quest guide? Or are you working on it?
A: Before Runecrafting was released at the start of RS2 (the current RuneScape), I mostly got my Runes from either monster loot or from buying them from other players. As for the Heroes Quest guide, the reason it isn't on the site (as some of the other guides) is that I already did the quest in the old version of RuneScape so I wasn't able to complete it again. But, work on that quest guide, as well as the others will soon be complete.

Q: Nice Site Sal, it's extremely pimptastic. -can I say that?-
Anyway, I'm wanting to become a member, and I was gonna do the "Pay by Phone" payment option. Only problem is, it's a 900 number. So I went with a money order, and all in all, it'll be about 15 US Dollars. -and I aint gonna pay that much- So, what I'm gonna do is to pay by Credit Card. Is it generally safe to do this from Runescape and not get my identity stolen or anything similar to that?
A: Yes, paying for RuneScape members by credit card is completely safe. All of the RuneScape login pages are encrypted using SSL, which scrambles all of the info that you send and receive so that no one but you or RuneScape can read. Worldpay, the credit card processor for RuneScape is also a secure service used by lots of people. As long as your computer doesn't have malware on it, you'll be fine.

Q: hey sal, you probably wont read thi, but i hope you will-nice site, i was wondering how you get mime clothes and paint. my friends say that if you ignore the mysterious old man hell bring u there or will it happen if you do answer him? thx-sry its so long.
A: You can get Mime clothes after completing an act on the Mime stage random event. Mimes are quite rare, and if you complete it correctly you may be able to get a piece or 2 of the clothing, or unlock one of the mime special emotes.

Q: Hey Sal GREAT website!! I use it all the time. Ive got two questions:
1. someone told me that you can get a loan for up to 5k, is this true??
2. when you use super heat to smelt do you have to do one ore at a time or will all the ores in your inventory be smelted???
A:
1) No, there aren't any "loans" in RuneScape, you need to earn all of your cash.
2) Superheating will only smelt 1 ore at a time, so you'll need to use it multiple times to smelt all of the ores in your backpack.

Q: hey sal, awesome website. all i really want 2 no is wats a nat? its been bugging me cuz its used in some moneymaking shemes and i have no idea what some ppl r talking about.

Q: Hi sal this website is better than no other, itt will do
!! But my question is as an non-member, how do u get lots of runes (like 1000-1500) without spending a lot time or money for it, other players are just selling it for to much and aubury's is always out of stock so, i need your help (and rune crafting doesnt make enough in 1 time) So plz plz please answer this question,
i will always thank u!!!
A: If you don't want to buy them, your best bet would be to start Runecrafting. You just need to do the Rune Mysteries Quest, and after a bit of mining and runecrafting, you'll have lots of Runes!

Q: Ok heres an interesting question, I see claws on almost every list of items that can be made and I know I have the level to do it (46), why cant i find them on the list of items to make (steel)? Is there a quest I have to complete first?
A: Before you can Smith your own claws, you need to complete the Death Plateau Quest.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eekooja
Q: sup sal i kno im gonna sound like an idiot when i ask this but is it at all possible to smith black stuff im almost positive that u cant but im just curious
A: You're right, you can't smith Black items in RuneScape; you can only buy them from other stores or obtain them from monster drops.

Q: Hey sal nice website! Ok my question is this: I was wondering where people get guilded armor. You know the gold armor. My friend said mods get it from runescape 3 but i think ihes wrong. Thx for the help and plz answer this, it's killing me

Q: if you die in the castle wars waiting room ( after you've joined a team, like in 1 of those thing ) does it count as a real death or a castle wars death ( basicly the question is do you loose your items if you die in that area ) thnx sal u rock@!!@!!@!@!!!!@!@!@!@!
A: If you die during Castle Wars, you'll end up back in the Respawn Room, with all of your items and health intact. In other words, it's just a Castle Wars death and you won't lose anything from it.

Q: please respond to this! if you have a mithril sword will you miss more than if you have a steel sword? and does the sword's "level" change how easy or hard it is to hit? please answer
A: Generally, the better the type of sword (or any other weapon), the better your accuracy and power will be. So, a Mithril sword should hit better than a Steel sword.

Q: Hey Sal! Great website! I have heard many rumers that there will be a skill in the near future that will allow RuneScape players the ability to build houses and make furniture. I think this would be a great skill and really want to know if the rumers are true.
A: Well, I'm not part of the Jagex team, but plans to allow players to build or own their own Player Owned houses (or POHs) was planned in the past (in RSC). The idea was scrapped as they did not have enough resources to complete it. When they announced their future plans for the new (current) RuneScape, the ability to make furniture for Player Houses was included. I can't tell you the specifics, as I'm not on their team or aware of their plans.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gollum09
Q: Hi Sal, i love the site keep up the good work!!!! My question is about the players with crowns next to their name what does that mean??
A: When you see someone with a crown next to their name, it could mean 1 of 2 things, depending on the crown. A golden crown next to someone's name means that they are a Jagex Staff moderator, or someone who works for RuneScape. Someone with a silver crown next to their name is a Player Moderator, and they have been chosen by Jagex to watch over the players in RuneScape.

Q: ive always wondered what do torn pages dolike eg torn page2(G) ps this is a wicked site please anser
A: Torn Pages are for the God Books received from completing the Horror From the Deep Quest. The letter in ()s denotes which book the page belongs to: (S)=Saradomin, (G)=Guthix, (Z)=Zamorak. Adding pages to the books will increase their stat bonuses, depending on the book.

Q: hey sal!ur syte is da best!well i need 2 ask a question...is gilded armour good eg.better than rune or bronze or sumthing?cuz i'm confused because i'm wonderin is gilded armour good because i think i'll get it if i no if its good plz answer this!
A: Regular armor has exactly the same stats as Gilded, Trimmed or God Armor of the same type of metal. For example, Rune Trimmed armor has the same stats as regular Rune armor. The only difference in the trimmed armor is that it has the cool looking trim on it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: k sal first off great site!=) i have another question about RS: What does auto-retaliate do?
A: If you have Auto-Retaliate on and you get attacked, your character will automatically start attacking your enemy, as opposed to having it set as "off" and your character will not fight back until you click on your enemy.

Q: hi sal!!! again i have a really really important question! plz answer. are treasure trail items tradeble? like the pirate hat, the robinhood hats, or mage boots? (not the glided or trim ones). P.S ur site is great.
A: Yes, most of the different treasure trail items are tradeable, including Cavaliers, Berets, boots and the various kinds of Trimmed, Gilded and God armors.

Q: I would like to ask... is there anyway i can acess the bank without going into the wilderness? (im in Lumbridge still) Cuz i might get killed... im only level 8 and i have like 1k on hand so i dont wanna lose it! Thanks!
A: Yes, there are lots of banks that can be found throughout RuneScape. You can find 1 in Al Kharid or Draynor Village, which are 2 of the closest ones to Lumbridge. There are many others that you can get to, although there are none in the Wilderness. Check the RuneScape world map and look for a $ symbol for a complete list of banks.

Q: How do you make splitbark wizard armour?? im realy confused because i thort that you had to use the bark from hollow trees but the wizard says that you have to use fine cloth. Where do you get this from?? Thanks for your time p.s quality web site keep up the great work!!!!
A: You can get Fine Cloth from the tomb in Mort'ton from the Shades of Mort'ton Quest. You need to kill the different types of Shades and burn their remains (like in the quest) on the Pyre Fires. You may get a key from the remains: use this with one of the doors in the tomb to get inside and open the chest. Sometimes you'll find some Fine Cloth, other times you may find other items. Bring the cloth back to the Wizard to exchange it for Splitbark Armor.

Q: i cant really explain it, but what are the robes called that droop over your face so that u can barely see their face. i really want one. everyone that has one has a purplish pink robe. plz tell me what their called.
A: Those robes are called "H.A.M. Robes." They're sometimes dropped by HAM members, located in their underground hideout found west of Lumbridge.

Q: to sally boy!! ur site rocks and helps me like loads. but i need to ask u wat a brass key does of wat door does it open can u answer this question PLZ PLZ PLZ
A: A Brass Key will open up the door to a small house northwest of Varrock. Many people use the key to get out of the Edgeville Dungeon, as it respawns near the ladder leading from the end of the dungeon in a small room.

Q: Hey, sal! ur site rox my sox!! i was just wondering if i wanted to try being a memeber and i paid for a month, lets say i got trimmed armor. next month i don't suscribe to be a member, will i still have the armor?? thanks..hope u answer!
A: Yes, you'll still have your armor (as well as anything else you got from being a Member). Any items that are members-only will still be in your bank when you become a Free-Player again; you'll just be unable to use them until you become a Member again. Instead, it will show up as a "Members Item."

Q: Hey Sal!! Awesome website! I was just wondering wear I can change my clothes or even if it's possible. Please answer, I'm dying to know! Thanks
A: Yes, there are a nuimber of places that you can go to change your RuneScape looks. The Hairdresser in the west part of Falador may be able to change your Hair style and color, while the Clothes Seller in Varrock near the fountain can change your clothes. Of course, you'll need to pay for anything that you change.

Q: sorry but you dont answer any of my questions before but i have 2 questions plz answer them
(1) what kind of flowers d mithril seeds grow
(2) where can you find the hollow trees
A:
1) Mithril seeds can grow all sorts of different colored flowers. There are red, yellow, orange, blue, purple, black and white flowers. There are also flowers that can have multiple colors, but those are much more rare than the other kinds.
2) Hollow Trees can be found east of Canifis, near the swamp.

A: I'd suggest that you download Spybot Search & Destroy from Safer Networking. After isntalling it, get the updates and scan your computer. Have it delete anything it finds. Also, be sure to check out the Security Guide.

Q: Awsome site sal, i really hope u answer my question.
1.) If u leave your kitten in your bank for a long period of time will in run-away or dissipear?
A: No, once your kitten (or cat) is in the bank, it will be safe and won't run away or disappear.

Q: hey its me again i was in the castle wars and i saw this sheep...except when i put my mouse over it it said ss name instead of 'sheep'ummm...what happened here? thx!
A: If you walk through the portal of a God while wearing another God's armor or hold symbol, you'll be turned into an animal ( Imp=Zamorak, Bunny=Saradomin, Sheep=Guthix).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hot Doggy

Q: Hi! Great site! I have a few questions about rasing cats.
1) DO you have to play with the kitten for 2 hours straight or do you just have to let him out of the inventory and follow you?
A: Well, it's best if you play with your cat, give him food and attention. Otherwise, he'll run away after awhile. Be sure to read the Kitten To Cat guide if you haven't already!

Q: hey, ur site has been a lot of help and i like it. i am playing rs2 right now and i though of a good question that i needed answered. when i walk through certain places with things like skeletons they atk when i didnt atk them, what lvl do i have to be before they dont atk randomly? thnks
A: Ususally you need ot be twice their level, plus 1. So, if the moster was level 20, you'll need to be level 41 so that they won't attack you.

Q: Hey sal, nice web site, ok, i got 2 questions
1. do i have to do the regicide quest to be able to use dragon weapons?
2. Do I need to finish dragon slayer quest to wear rune plaight? BTW: Sweet site man!!
A: 1) No, but many Dragon weapons require that you complete quests before using them (As well as 60 Attack). Dragon Swords require that you have finished the Lost City Quest, while Dragon Axes require the Hero's Quest to be completed first. The Dragon Halberd requires that you have first completed the Regicide Quest.
2) Yes, you need to first complete the Dragon Slayer quest before wearing a Rune Plate (or a Dragonhide body).

Q: I just bought a maul and i ahve some questions. Firstly, wat does the maul special attack do anyways? Secondly, would you recommend this weapon? lastly, how much damage do you think someone with 50 strength would hit with it tops. I hope you answer this. By the way, AWESOME SITE!
A: The Granite Maul just does a quick attack that adds some damage to your hit. There aren't any special effects like the other weapons have. It's a powerful weapon that's faster than a 2-H sword, so I'd reccomend it. With 50 Strength you could probably do around 14-15 damage (without potions or anything) or more.

Q: I saw 2 people that has cool armor on... its an split bark armor... how can i get barks for the armor???please help. PS:COOL SITE U HaVe!
A: Splitbark armor can be obtained after complting the Shades of Mort'ton Quest. You need to kill the different shades in the temple and burn their remains on Pyre Logs. Sometimes they will drop a key, and with this you can open different doors (in the temple) and get some Fine Cloth from the chests. When you have enough, you can bring the cloth back to the Wizard wearing Splitbark Armor in the Wizards' Tower near Draynor Village and he'll sell you different pieces. A full guide on this will be added to the site soon.

Q: Hey I was hoping you could tell me for someone just starting out in runescape, what do you think are the skills that they should work on first? Or should they work on all skills evenly (i.e. get a level in smithing, now go get to the same level in crafting) Please answer. Thanks!
A: I'd reccommend that you work on fishing, cooking and combat first. Fishing and Cooking is a great way to earn cash, and if you want to fight you'll need to know how to cook to stay alive. Your style of combat is up to you, whether you want to use melee, ranged or magic. Many people choose to use melee combat (attack, defense and strenth) first, and then as they get some cash they can spend it on Runes or Arrows. Of course, it's really up to you as to what stats to train.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sedirex
Q: Hi sal. Just so you know, your site is awesome! But I have a problem. I'm level 37, and up until now I've been training as a warrior. But recently, I decided that I want to be a ranger. However, my attack and strength are 36 and 28. Can I still be a successful ranger? I don't want to start a new account because I wouldn't be able to pay for 2 members accounts! Help!
Sedirex
A: Of course you can still be successful! If you keep working on your Ranging, Attack and Strength will have no effect on your combat level. As long as Ranging is your highest combat stat, the other stats will not effetc your level.

Q: Hey Sal, You havent posted any of my questions before, but can you please post this one!Anyway ive been wondering, ive heard people talking about this thing called a rune bot, they say that it upgrades your stats and dupes your items, is it true?
A: Rune Bot is supposedly a macroing program that will mine fish and do everything else for you. Don't believe it, most of the programs that you'll find are designed to steal your password. Many are backdoor trojans that will set a keylogger up on your computer and do some not-so-good things to it (among them, steal your RuneScape account).

Q: Hi Sal and everybody!!! I have un question and plz answer it!!! Can i get more than one clue from the same kind of monster??
A: Yes, you can get an 'unlimited' number of clues from the same type of monster, but you need to complete (or drop) each clue before you can get another (from any kind of monster).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mattshaffer2
Q: sorta weird but i was wondering what QP was. when u click on the level button, it's on the bottom left and i was wondering what it was for.(my QP is 39)
A: QP actually stands for the number of Quest Points that you have, from completing quests.

Claire
Q: hey Sal, awesome web site...I am a first time asker lol....but here is my question. i usually see flowers in the local general store.and i would like to know how i could "pick" flowers and sell them.
A: After you complete the Waterfall Quest, you'll get a box of Mithril Seeds. These can be planted anywhere and they'll instantly grow into Flowers that you can pick! You can also buy Seeds from the Legends Guild.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brandon
Q: im kinda a noob in runescape so i dont know if this is a stupid question but i know strength raises the damage you do, what about your attack level?
A: Your attack level is what determines if you'll hit your enemy. The higher your Attack, the better your chance is to successfully hit your opponent.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Xelefer
Q: If you are skulled and have protect items on, and you die, do you keep 1 item? please respond. PS: your website is awesome!
A: Yes, you'll still keep an item if you're killed while you're skulled and have the Protect Items Prayer on.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jonnymet
Q: hi sal!!!!!! this is the third question ive posted so hopefully u will answer it, ok here goes. how do i got into the mage arena????????? plz answer im really desparate to know.
A: You need to have at least level 60 Magic to get into the Mage Arena, whih is located in the deep Wilderness around level 55. You will also need some sort of sharp weapon (or a Knife) to get past the spider webs.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Emperor Penguin
Q: I think our site is the best Runescape fansite ever created! I have a few questions...
1): Are there penguins in Rs2 members servers?
2): When pking, can two archers (or mages) kill eachother at the same time?
3): If a non-member pk's a member, does the non-member get member items? Thanks!
A:
1)Yes, you can find Penguins in the Ardougne Zoo on Members' Servers.
2) I suppose that they could kill each other at the same time if the attacks were timed just right, but it's highly unlikely for that to happen.
3) No, the Member items will disappear if they are dropped on a freeplay server.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Master1951
Q: hi sal. i just started lookin at your site and its the bomb. i had a question. is anyone able to trim armor cause ive had like 5 people ask and ive rejected it. second question is how do all the people in the wilderness that are lower than you almost kill you cause i almost died goin up against a level 54 and im 61. thankx and i hope you answer.
A: No, armor can't be trimmed by anyone in RuneScape. The only way to obtain it is through completion of a Treasure Trail. Lower level PKers may be a pure, which means that they don't have any Prayer experience (or levels). This keeps their level lower than a person with a higher prayer level, and they may have higher combat stats.

Demon Ifrit
Q: Hey Sal, just wanna say AWESOM site, I completed all the non-member quests thanks to it! My question is, how do you get robes of Zamorak or "Necromancer" robes? Are they tradable in free worlds? thanks, Demon Ifrit
A: Robes of Zamorak are obtained by Necromancers in the tower southeast of Ardougne. You can also get them from Iban Desciples, but they aren't tradeable in the freeplay world.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Joe Lessner
Q: hi sally boy! im a big fan of ur website! allrighty then , ok heres my question,''if you unsubscribe, does ur member stuff say member object or the real name like ( rune halberd)? and if its like a dragon long , can you still wield it cuz if ur a member and you go to a free world then it just says kick or punch?
A: Yes, any meber items will become a 'Members Object' while on a freeplay world. They aren't useable on freeplay, so you'll be unable to equip any of them. Items that you were wearing while you were a member (including Members-Only ones) will still be equipped, but they will give no stat bonuses.

Q: Hi sal! Your website ROCKS!!!!! I would like you to answer these two questions for me as soon as possible(im dyin got find out):p (1 Do abyssal demons ALWAYS drop abyssal whips or is it a rare(or common drop)? (2 How do i make htese so-called prayer, attack, etc. pots everyone is talking about?
A:
1) No, Abyssal Whips are actually a rare drop from Abyssal Demons.
2) Check the Herblore guide for all of your potion-making needs.

Q: For the kitten to cat thing, does the cat have to be walking behind you or does it just have to be in your inventory for the 2 hour time period? Please let me know. Your site is awesome, Sal! I love it! ~Nicolet13~
A: Yes, your kitten needs to be outside of your backpack walking behind you in order for it to grow up into a Cat.

Q:If ur a member and u go to say ardougn on the members world what would happen if u loged out and reloged in on a free world?? i want to find out but i dont want risk dyin for the first time.P.S. im lv 53 and u have a wicked site!
A: If you're standing on a Members-Only area in RuneScape and try to log into a freeplay server, you'll just be unable to log in until you move to a freeplay area.

Q: I have noticed that on your website there are some members quests not listed there. You might be still righting the walkthroughs, but whatever the reason is please tell me when they will be ready or if you'll right them at all!!
A: Yes, those guides will be written in a short time. As you can see, there are regular updates adding the different guides that the site is missing. Lots of people have been writing guides to help the site out, but I'm the one who writes the final guide to be put on the site. As there's only 1 of me, it takes awhile to add all of the guides! :-)

Q: Hi sal,
I'm new to this site and like it. My question is that I was walking around ardougne zoo when i saw this gorilla come and follow me. It scared me heaps. Then it turned into a monkey. I ran around the zoo with this monkey runnning after me. Then it turned into a player. He wont tell me how to do this so i wanna learn how. I reckon it's cool. I hope you can answer it.
A: This can be accomplished after doing the Monkey Madness Quest. You'll have the ability to turn into a monkey at any time once you're finished! there are more details about this inside the guide.

Q: hey sal ur site kicks! n e wayz i waz wonderin why:
1.some very high lvl ppl have books in their hands
2. where to get them
3.what they do
4 and can i equip one if im a non member?
A: Those books are from the Horror From the Deep Quest and they are known as Prayer Books. You'll get a book of the God of your choice from the quest, and they add 5 to your Prayer. As you add pages to them, they will add more prayer and stat bonuses. Saradomin adds 8 to Defense stats, Zamorak adds 8 to Strength stats, and Guthix adds 4 to both Attack and Defense bonuses. These are members-only items, so non members can't use them.

A: I've been wondering about this for a while, but is the left side of runescape available only to members? In other words, will a non-member like myself be able to get to the Heros' Guild and Buthorpe which is west of the chaos temple, past the border? Great site! Keep it up
A: Yes, the entire west half of RuneScape is members-only, and anything past the border is only available to Members.

Q: Hey Sal! This is urgent! I accidently started the wterfall quest and I went on the raft and now I'm stranded and I don't have any rope! What do I do???????? Please reply as soon as possible!
A: If you're stranded on the island without rope, I believe that you can just click on the large rock that you would use the rope with and you'll attempt to swim off of the island but you'll be carried downstream out of the Waterfall.

Q: Hi again, Sal. This time I have a thechnical question for ya; you seem to know about the different kinds of Java. I switched to a different kind when we started using Mozilla Firefox, and since then the sound has not been working on Runescape (It works everywhere else). If you could offer me some suggestions about how to get the sound back, I'd really appreciate it. (Its been going on for a while now, but I mostly want to listen to all the music I've unlocked during the game.) Thanks Sal, you're a huge help.
A: There seems to be an issue with the sound in RuneScape while using other browsers that Internet Explorer. I use Firefox as well but I can't hear music either. I'm not sure if it's an issue with RuneScape or with how Firefox handles sound. You could probably get a better answer from the Jagex Support staff on their website. For now, if you want to hear music I'd use the RuneScape client.

Q: i would like to make a guide for ur website but i dunno how i should write it up...should i use wordpad or something? tel me cuz i would like to help out ur website
A: The best way to help the site and submit a guide would be to join the Forum and just post the guides there. That way, other players can discuss your guides and suggest things that you may have missed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Agr11
Q: VERY helpful site! The tips have gotten me through many quests. I've got two questions for you...
1) Another player started talking trash to me by quoting me my own skill levels in different catagories (mining level, strength level, etc.) How was he able to access that information? Can someone view someones elses levels?
2) If you are attacked in the wilderness and you are able to defeat the attacker do you still end up with a skull and cross bones over your head?
A:
1) On the RuneScape site is a link to the Hiscores, which allows you to search for other players and see their current stats, as long as they have at least level 30 in that skill. Most likely, he just went to the RuneScape main page and searched for your name to see your skill levels.
2) No, as long as you're not the one who starts the fight or attacks first, you won't receive a skull.

Q: Sal! I have a big problem! Ever since the new Runescape loader came out, it lags a lot and almost whenever it says "Loading-please wait", it soon says "we have lost the connection. Attempting to re-establish"! The worlds closest to my home are usually packed (I was told it's best to use them) and all the other worlds still lag! Please help or I may quit Runescape!
A: If everything was ok before, it sounds like there's a problem with your computer. To be more specific, it sounds like your computer either: a) doesn't have enough memory; or b) is too slow. You can easily upgrade your memory, but it's more difficult to install new processor to increase it's speed. Try playing on Low Detail instead to see if that makes a difference.

Q: First of all, sorry for the double-question, and I forgot to say that your runescape website rocks. Secondly, I am a runescape newb, therefore my questions will be rather stupid (possibly like the one I am about to ask you...) Finally, the question! I was wondering, would a pure mage still be a pure mage if it had prayer points? ~Runescape newb
A: No, if you have prayer points, you're not a pure. This is because prayer brings your combat level up.

Q: first, ur site is so cool i have it minimized hile i play and its my homepage!!!!My question is where its the kalphite dungeon i cant find it on the map plz send awnswer to my email(dont post email part)
A: The Kalphite Dungeon can be found just west of the Shantay Pass in the desert, and you'll see an "!" to mark it's location on the map. You'll need a rope to climb down and be sure to bring some good weapons and armor!

Q: Hey sal, great site, I use it a lot. I have one quick question. I was doing the plauge city quest, and inside the mourners base, I searched a crate. Inside I found a rusty sword. Is this an item for a quest, or what? This has been bugging me, and I just wanted to know.
A: Rusty Swords aren't for any current quests, but you can bring them to a man in the Khazard Port to have them polished. Sometimes you'll get a regular sword like Iron or Mithril, but other times you'll get an Antique Sword. Antique Swords have no real use and he'll buy them for around 2,000gp each.

Q: WILL YOU PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTIONS!!!!!!! I've sent in like 20 and waited and waited for answers and mine were not among them!!!!! humph! n e way how can i get people to stop attacking me in the wildy? im tryin to get chaoses with emty inventory but idiots keep attacking me even wen i say ive got an emty 1 r they stupid or r they just killin me for fun? or do they not beleive me? plz plz plz tell me what i should say or do!
A: There really isn't a way to stop others from attacking you in the Wilderness. It's supposed to be a dangerous place and PKers will attack anyone, whether they may get something from you or not. Of course, the best way to keep people from attacking you is usually to be stronger than them, but that doesn't always work.

Q: My brother is a member for only a few days and he really wants to know were you can buy coloured boots and gloves. I can't help him, I hope you can.

Q: You haven't awnserd any of my questions before but... I guess I will try agian. Where can you get a rune full helm and/or scimitar (I AM A NON-MEMBER)
A: You can get Full rune Helmets by killing Greater Demons, but Rune Scimitars can only be smithed or picked up from the loot of Fire Giants on a Members-Only server.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kraid64
Q: I have some questions
1. how come you dont answer my other qusstions!!!!
2.My friend has colored robes but he said he got them in gnome village not in the canifs is there other colored robes shops?
3.even though im not a member if you die in castle wars do you end up in lumbridge? sorry that took so long
A:
1) I can't always answer every question that I get, but I try to answer the most important questions. If you're question isn't answered, it could be because the answer can be found on another Q&A page, or in a guide on the site. Questions that don't make sense will not be answered. I don't purposly refuse to answer your questions, it's just that I can't possibly answer every question that gets submitted. You can always submit the question again if it wasn't answered before.
2) Currently you can buy robes and clothing from Canifis and the Tree Gnome Village. Canifis has darker colored clothing, while the Gnomes sell brighter pastel-like colored clothes.
3) If you die during Castle Wars, you'll just find yourself in the waiting room of the room, but you won't lose anything.

Free Runescape Money Making Guide

Well, as you know there are a lot of Runescape Money Making Guides out there, and most of them people are charging money for. I am going to tell you now, do not pay for them. They are just going to tell you the same worn out information that you can get from talking to anyone who has been in Runescape for a while. I have played Runescape for many years, and I know what to do to make money. So here it is, my Free Runescape Money Making Guide.
I have found out an interesting idea about how to make money recently. It will take some time to really make a lot of money with it, and you are going to need money already to be able to do it. It is really just an old idea that has been recycled. Taking an idea and making it better is what I call recycling. This is just the basic buy low and sell high idea, and yet they have taken it and made it better. Here is what you do; first, start buying. Save up the item you are going to sell. You might want to be selling something on the side to make the money to pay for the item you're planning to sell. Let's say you are going to sell Swordfish. People usually will want to buy it raw, so try buying from some specialty fish stores. Try to buy when there is a lot of them in stock so that the price is low. You might want to do some world changing before you begin buying, so you know you're getting a good price. Begin to save your Raw Swordfish in your bank. The longer you hold out before selling the more money you will make. The reason this is true is because people like to buy a lot of them at once, so that they do not have to do a bunch of separate trades, and thus, are willing to pay more. It is even better to sell to Members. A lot of them are higher levels who like their items as soon as possible. If you can stock up at a cheap price and sell at a high bulk price, you will be making a lot of money.
Personally, I would just recommend fishing for the Swordfish yourself. It seems like a lot of work to have to make the money, and then buy Swordfish with it, when you could of just fished it for yourself in half the time. They also mentioned to me that you should get a list of people who are going to want ongoing supplies of the item. You can do this without having to buy and sell, just fish and sell, mine and sell, and so on. If you get an order in for 1000 coal, which is faster, mining it or buying it? In addition, what if you do not have the money to buy the 1000 coal? I believe it is much faster to mine it yourself than to buy it. Runescape-blog.com Sure, its not as easy, but it all evens out. So maybe neither are faster than another. One is easy and one is fast, so who finishes first? I suppose that's for you to decide.
Whether you buy and sell, or you do it yourself, your still going to make money in the end. So try both and see which one is better for you. Eventually you will work your way up to full Rune Gold Trimmed Amour! Happy Playing.

Runescape Construction

The skill of Construction is one of my personal favorites. It allows you to do quite a lot of things. Toys, Furniture, Decorations, these are just a glimpse of what Runescape Construction has to offer.
The first thing you should do is get 1000gp and buy your first house. You can buy your house from the Real Estate Agent in Varrok, Falador, Seers' Village, or East Ardougne. After you buy your house, you will receive a Construction Book, and be able to enter your house. The very first house you get is located in Rimmington. (Rimmington is South of Falador, the place where the witch is in the Witches Potion quest.) You are able to move it, change its style, add rooms, but all at a price. When you arrive at Rimmington, you will notice a big purple portal. This is how you will get in.
Go to your house will bring you to your home, but you cannot build. Building mode will give you all kinds of options such as adding rooms, planting trees, and building furniture. As I was saying, the Real Estate Agent can do many things for your house, but at a price. So lets look at these prices.
He can change the style of your home; this will require a certain Construction level along with the correct amount of gold. Until level 10, you are stuck with the old Wooden House look. When you reach level 10 you can pay 5,000 gold to upgrade to Stone that looks a lot like Lumbridge. Then you can bump it to White Stone at level 20 for 7,500 gold, and so on up the list. The highest style you can get is called Fancy Stone and it looks like Falador, it requires level 50 construction and 25,000 gold.
The Real Estate Agent is also able to move your home to different locations. Just like the different styles, these also require levels and gold. The level/cost is in the same order as the styles, the starter being in Rimmington and the last at Yanille. With various places in between.
I have spent quite a lot of gold on my house. It is in Brimhaven, which costs 15,000 gold. (It is fun to live on Karamja, a lot to do there, I hardly leave the island.) In addition, my style is Tropical Wood, another 15,000 gold, so that is 30,000 right there and I spent a lot of money trying different styles. Remember; be sure you want to change your style before you do. I wasted a lot of money changing and then changing back a lot.
If you are planning to make a pretty garden, then I would suggest heading up to the Falador Park and talking with the Garden Supplier. She sells many different "bagged" plants. With prices ranging from 1000 gold each to 15,000 gold each.
Servants are a fun twist on Runescape Construction. You can head on over to East Ardougne and hire one. There are some requirements to have a Servant. First, you will have to pay a fee to get a servant, along with paying him or her whenever they request to be paid. You have to have at least two bedrooms each with beds before you can hire one, if you want your servant to make you food, you will need a Dining room, and a Kitchen with the things needed to make the food. The fee you pay to them at first will be the fee they will ask for again, so be sure you can afford it. Now lets talk about the different Servants you can get.
Rick will serve shrimp and can take up to 6 items to and from the bank if needed. The Maid can serve bowls of Stew and cups of Tea, she is faster than Rick when taking things to and from the bank, and she can take up to 10 items.
The Cook is able to take 16 items faster than The Maid, and she can take wood and get planks made. She serves Pineapple Pizza to the guests and you.
The Butler is faster than The Cook of course, and can take 20 items; he is also faster with the planks. Chocolate Cake is what The Butler will make.
The Demon Butler is able to take 26 items to and from the bank, and is even faster than The Butler. He will serve you bowls of Curry. The servant will only ask for payment if you make it do something. So if you are low on gold, do not talk to your servant! Otherwise you might loose him or her.
Now you have a good idea of what can be done with your house. So go let your imagination flow! Haha, Happy Playing.
